WvW Mesmer : Condition or Burst Damage ?
Archeage = Farmville with PK
I believe in burst. You need to kill whatever you are killing fast enough before a zerg ball rolls over you.
condition for zergs…..
Its one of the best builds.
burst is quite limited…its better for small fights but the amout of havoc you deal with a condition mesmer in www can be compared only to necros…
A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.
A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.
What will you be doing ? Roaming solo ? 5 manning ? Serving ? Objective defending ?
My fav build for roaming and Objective defending is linked in my dog, the glamour build is probably the best for 5 man + and zergs.
Conditions all the way!
Conditions get worse the more players enter combat (devastatingly low cap + Aoe cleanse). Do not go conditions for large scale battles, currently conditions are in a bad place. 1v1 they can be absolutely excellent though, for sure.

Depends on if we’re talking about all sorts of conditions or a specific glamour/confusion bombing build. The latter works excellent, the bigger the zerg the better. I literally can’t loot as fast as it’s raining bags. And in small scale combat I don’t kill quickly, but I’m ultra annoying and really hard to kill, last one standing most of the time. In 1vs1, I’m just switching my utilities when I have enough time.
if you are roaming, burst. you can absolutely destroy someone in 1 vs 1. use sword, pistol, greatsword, and mirror images, stun signet, and blink for utilities, 30/30/0/0/10 for traits and all berker gear. as ur running up to them summon duelist then use 3# the sword along with soon as u swap places use mirror images then F1, and finish them with blurred frenzy. Depending on your opponents armor, (3k armor you will deal 15k, 900-1100 toughness will hit them for 20k). If that doesnt kill them (often bunker ele’s or guardians) they will be completely suprised with the amount of damage u dealt, and retreat of with using their healing skill, switch to your greatsword and use #3 to remove a boon (most likely regen which they just used), then use #5 to interrupt their healing, then get your berserker up and spam #1.
There are also other sequences to dealing loads of burst damage, but this is the best and quickest.
Nothing can survive the brute force of a berserker mesmer who can use his DPS skills.

I hate to say it (since I’m a hardcore conditions-junkie), but for roaming mode, you probably want to go straight shatter. Henrik’s idea is basic, but plenty workable.
GS + S/S can also get things done.
There is one thing condi-mesmers can do well, however. -Survive- Especially Staff-heavy builds with high Chaos investment.
Honestly, I’d say try every build possible. Fact is, the best build is the one YOU
feel most comfortable using.

Feedback is plenty for nukes. It’s almost never the case that zerglings will stop shooting whenever they see feedback, so if you put it at the point of engagement, not only would you negate their alpha strike, but you’ll also down at least a few people just by yourself, then the enemy will start scattering and stop attacking, giving your team free shots to pick them off.
It’s a one trick pony, but it works, and the bags, just try to spam F as fast as possible.
I want it to make sense right away, then another sense later. Murkiness =/= quality "

To my knowledge solo or small group go burst/direct damage. Zerg go Glamour condition build
Davidah (Guardian) Goloith (Engineer)
Achuni (Mesmer) Doreanora (Thief)
A well-placed feedback will either cause a brief retreat or wipe. I’ve even seen people down themselves if I put it on a flame ram lol
