Yes… totally.. the 1v3… and multiple 1v2s beg to differ but uhh… sorry for using a class mechanic? (Stealth)… my bad? and how i use my skills doesnt negate the gameplay at all lol… Soo.. great point man. (You just confirmed it’s cause im using a mesmer btw)

A terribab Mesmer trying to showcase a strong build that carries and is used by ALOT of Mesmers atm.

It’s not fair for me to judge you because of my own vids lol, but I don’t cry when people down vote those vids. I take suggestions to heart and move forward. In short, I’m being honest wrather then judgemental.

I don’t want to be rude or anything, but this video is boring. Watching PU stealth burst montages is boring. PU is also a crutch for players that don’t know how to survive without it.

If you really wanted viewers you’d make your own super creative interesting build and run with that to show us unexplored playstyles and interesting fights.

While I find referring to PU as a crutch to be infantile, I concur that this video is…dull to watch. The play isn’t spectacular for multiple reasons, the people you’re fighting are generally absolutely horrid, and it’s just another WvW shatter montage. We’ve all seen countless WvW shatter montages, this is nothing special.

As for boring vids: it certainly is important to try to keep them entertaining. If a montage isnt going to work, try a vignette instead.

A short pithy clip can showcase something, or convey an idea with minimal cost of a viewers time. In which case they’re unlikely to feel cheated on their investment for having watched. Though you can’t control what a viewer wants to take away from a vid, so you should always expect haters XD

There’s an option to set your ranged ground targeted abilities to max range. If you do this you can set your cursor with blink into the distance and you’ll always have the green circle, never the red. Saves your life.

Let me ask you this:

In your opinion, what makes your video entertaining or interesting to watch? Generally speaking, I find a video interesting for a couple of reasons. It could be showcasing absolutely exceptional play, this is always interesting. It could be demonstrating an interesting technique, build, or mechanic that someone has come up with. It could simply be an instructional video, with not necessarily exceptional play and not necessarily a groundbreaking new build, but with solid suggestions, tips, and advice on how to perform effectively.

You’re a new player, and so you’re obviously not going to be particularly skilled at the class, eliminating the possibility of exceptional play. You’re playing a tried and proven build that isn’t new or different in any way. You’re also not making it as an instructional guide on how to play or perform effectively.

So what does that leave us with? Well…not much. It leaves us with a video showing less than exceptional play, with no particularly unique or distinguishing characteristics about it to keep us interested or entertained. Is it such a surprise that people aren’t jumping out of their seats to praise it?

I used to do youtube for a living so making an entertaining video is something I strive for. With this video in particular I know the gameplay wasn’t 10/10, but with clean editing, I made a chill, enjoyable video IMO. Anyways. Clean editing makes a video watchable, it doesn’t necessarily make it enjoyable. While editing is absolutely important (or more often, lack of excessive editing, yours is certainly fine in this regard), content of the video can’t be neglected. In this case, the content really just holds nothing of particular interest to most people. We’ve all seen shatter montages before. They’re all roughly the same. They’re all not really all that interesting to watch.

Thief had SR’d to go past to the point (thus why I was dking around watching said point). So claiming thief afk is just silly.

But I get it, you were upset and wanted to defend yourself. That’s ok. :D

Well I will say your video editing and music choices are good, if that makes you feel better at all.

Anyway regarding PU, I should apologize. I just tend to have an “anti-meta” bias regarding competitve builds in this game, in which I try to show meta builds that there are equally, or more viable options than the ones that other people have come up with. Thats kinda my design philosophy, though I would play meta builds if they kept me from getting bored too quickly, which is really rare for me.

PU makes it really easy to survive in zerk, so I understand that it’d be a good build to learn the class on. However, especially if you do spvp compared to wvw, I’d suggest trying out other, more aggressive playstyles and builds, because eventually you’ll get to a point where you won’t need the defense from PU to survive.

Well I can understand its uses in WvW, I disagree that it’s all that necessary in PvP. Yes it lets you back cap more easily, but that’s still overall a role done better by a shadow arts thief due to sb 5 map crossing, and their stealth is overall more supportive to allies compared to Mesmer stealth.

Yes you can do stealth bursts, but those are honestly pretty predictable in pvp. It only really works as a one-off burst, after that, catching them off guard will be difficult since the typical PU build won’t have the tools needed to repeatedly lock down targets to land bursts compared to one that doesn’t. As a Mesmer you can +1 a fight on nearly any power build, I don’t believe that stealth gives your huge advantage for that role either. If you don’t need the trait to survive, it’s better to invest in the tools that let you lick targets down better or for things like inspiration to give you more on point staying power during a 1v1 so you don’t instantly let a decap happen.

Yeah, we’d just tango’d. He went SR. Showed up on point. I jumped on him. He died. My impression at the time was he had stuff on CD and thought he was safe with me at such a distance. LOCKDOWN ensued.

He was a decent thief from what I saw of him in the match Snaps to him.
