WvW Mesmer builds?
I would say power. Imo I have been experimenting with a core build of dueling/inspiration and what ever else. Dueling needed for de and shattering. Inspiration for the awesome condition clearing. From there you can choose chaos for pu, Dom for lockdown play, currently running in illusions for might stacking and faster shatter recharge. Was playing dueling/inspiration/chaos pu shatter a little slow with no weapon cooldowns but still really effective. Honestly to repeat power shatter dueling/inspiration as your core have fun from there.
The wvw build options are very open, it does feel a little weak without chaos as it is so easy to get out of yucky situations without it. I do prefer Dom[1,1,2/3]/chaos[3,1,2]/illusion[3,1,2](or dueling[2,1/3,3]), with MoD, blink, Ether Feast, Decoy and MassInv. Weapons are gs + sw/t. Pledge is next to godlike with this set up and your main burst is either of swleap>sw2 combo, or you standard gs burst opener. Runes are of Traveler and the Sigils are gs[Fire and Air] sw[Fire] torch[bloodlust]. I currently run a more condi cleanse with illusions/chaos/dueling which is also very strong and survivable but you trade it off for a stun but you are more flexible. Thanks. It will take a bit getting used to power again since i’ve been playing around with a MtD condi build in PvP.
Would you recommend assassin or zerker for mesmer in WvW?
To be honest, after playing around a bit in WvW I’m not sure if Chaos (PU) is worth taking over Dueling.
The only important traits in those trait lines are PU & DE. Not sure which is better.
Check my 2 build guides on into the mists for power builds, buy any of the rune sets listed for them and have fun, or I will come up with a working cele / condition build for / you if that’s what you would prefer. They are both under Spvp, for WvW get proportionally the same stats.
