I’ve been dual sword mesmer since the game was in beta. I’ve never changed my style. Through all the ups and downs, i’ve stayed true to my dual swords in every game mode all these years. I even crafted both sword legendaries and I was worried it would have been for nothing since mirage is a condi build. But I’m very happy with today’s changes.

I finally have a legit power dps build. I’m topping the meters in pugs. I’ve gotten kicked from a few groups before I could even enter the instance. They thought I was being a troll, but it was their loss.

Today’s changes to mesmer are great.

Can someone explain what is making Power Mesmer good all of a sudden?

Two new traits in the Dueling and Illusions line. One gives lots of Critical Damage while the other gives lots of passive damage to Phantasms.

Does anyone know already whether this provides a boost or a loss (overall) to condi phantasms in raids? I mean with Viper we crit plenty, too.

Condi is probably still better for bosses like Matthias duo to confusion and torment. Confusion deals extra damage when foe is engaging (attacking). Torment deals additional damage when foe moves. Which he also does a lot. Mesmer can output a ton of both conditions. So i think the condi build would still be superior there. As for other bosses. Power would probably be better. But then again. Other classes still can deal more damage. and your roll would be to tank and upkeep boons.

Power dps builds seem to be hitting 30k ish. Still has all the mechanical problems condi dps has though so I wouldn’t get too excited.
