In pve, the build to go for is one, where in both weaponsets, a 1h sword is in your mainhand.

I do not like that. It reduces the amount of spells that you could have, because the first 3 spells are the same in both weaponsets due to both using a mainhand 1h sword.

The new weapon for Mesmers will be an offhand shield.
I really love the new Beta Mesmer stuff, but I would like to see that Mesmers will have a pve build where the mainhand weapon is not the same in the other weapon set when you swap.

Maybe they could make certain changes, so that another weapon is good enough to replace the 1h sword in one of the weapon sets. Making one weapon set having 1h sword and the other one a different mainhand.

How do you other Mesmers feel about this topic?
Which other existing(edit) mainhand could they change, so that Mesmers dont have a 1h mainhand sword in both weapon sets?

I think the Sceptre may be worth using with no other changes in a Chronomancy build. If Shattering is good (and it looks like it will be in PvE with Alacrity and Chronophantasma) then so is Ether Clone.

That said we shouldn’t have to get an elite spec to make a PvE Mesmer work properly.

This. I think scepter may work just as well as sword for chrono

So you are both saying that scepter will be in the MAINHAND of one weapon setand the sword in the MAINHAND of the other weapon set to which you can swap?
