To me it seams to easy to block 1 attack by accident especially when the attack is a ranged projectile already in air, or a melee swing that is midway to a hit.

Would the mesmer player be offended if echo of memory got nerfed to having to block 3 attacks instead of just 1 to flip over to deja vu? In team fights this change should not be too noticeable.

It would be an entirely uncalled for and unjustified nerf. Instead of timing it to block an attack, you would really have to block attacks accidentally in order to get deja vu off.

You are essentially making a skill that would require some semblance of skill and timing a skill that basically would be “omg please people hit me”, which will never work against skilled opponents.

Not to mention the ramifications in PvE where you sometimes struggle to even get 1 block off.

Terrible and completely unjustified idea, in my opinion.

You’re whining about a problem that’s not a problem, asking for a nerf that is unnecessary, in order to hurt a class that traditionally struggles to fill a solid role in regular play.

Sorry Foste – the Mesmer community can be a bit venomous at nerf suggestions. The fact is – Shield is potent. It has our only Phantasm skill that also is a potent skill in and of itself (the block) never mind the potential refresh. I’d really like to see them carry that concept on to other Phantasm skills.

Odds are it may see some tuning – my only hope is that they maintain the potential block up time. I don’t personally think that your suggestion is a good one since it’s not very intuitive.

Shield does not need “tuning”. It’s in a phenomenal place just as it is. Stop trying to fix – and by that I mean ruin – what isn’t broken.

How about “tuning” Scepter instead.

I still think that when the other elite specs will be nerfed to acceptable levels (so go back to the level of core specs) the shield duration should be reduced to 1.75s each block (instead of 2.25s).
Shield is OP compared to pre-HoT meta. In the current meta, shield is fine.
