healish/supporty mesmer??
what would be the role for this? in which scenario?
from what I remember the healing for mantras scales very badly with healing power, you should consider stacking increased healing to allies instead (for example the Delicious Rice Ball food, Runes of the Monk, Sigil of Benevolence)
Make WvW Eventful! – WvW, 4 years in
Yes, I have 5 lv 80 mesmers – Funny Puns
maybe some events, dungeons. Nothing solo as it would be entirely pointless.
Dont think it would hold up well in raids though.
I don’t think your build in it’s current form is worth it anywhere. However, if you INSIST, please run something more along the lines of this build:
Having those 3 10% outgoing healing buffs helps a lot if you really want to heal. Minstrel and monk gives you boon duration and healing power. This build can push out quickness and alacrity which are the main buffs that a mesmer should shoot for. Staff is really not the way to go for pve boons. Shield quickness and focus reflects are better choices.
As far as general healing, this gives you MoP which is much better to spam for healing and the well is a better aoe heal for allies. The quickness spam also lets you spam MoP better so it’s not nearly as painful to channel. Restorative illusions only heals yourself. Regen will also be worth something with the 30% outgoing healing (~380 health per second).
Again, not a good build. This is the build I wanted to run in raids for a while (tank, healer & buffer) but other classes just heal so much better/this won’t keep a raid group up. BUT at least it does the main thing of providing quickness and alacrity (+reflects and pulls in dungeons) with some bonus healing on the side.
Yeah i specifically didnt go Chronomancer for a reason – i dislike it greatly. Fancy something different.
Well, non-chrono has no place in raids, so you can strike that off your list. Nobody wants a healer in fractals or dungeons, especially one that provides nothing else of importance to the group, so you can strike those from your list as well. A build focusing on heals in PvP will basically end up being a really bad version of a bunker that chrono/tempest/Druid can do, so that’s not worth your time either. Slow 5 target heals and phantasm-based regeneration doesn’t really work in WvW groups, so you can drop that one.
This leaves…open world? I guess you could try running a heal build in open world, but I can’t imagine it being an enjoyable endeavor.
Ya keep chrono
Instead of using mantras to heal, you can also go into domination for Blurred inscriptions, a trait that goes well with inspiring distortion. You can then go Signet of the ether, well of recall, signet of inspiration, and signet of midnight. I would also use phantasmal defender. Your goal would basically be to use your signets and distortion during continuum split to grant your allies distortion. You would then want to time the use of your signets at just right time to protect your allies from attacks that would kill them in one swipe. You would also use well of recall to lower the cool downs of your shatters and signets.
Have I tried this build at all? No, I do not know weather or not it would work well. However, I have been thinking about it since they had that big patch for trait changes before HoT.
Does this build currently have a use? no
Could this build have a use in the future? Potentially. The problem is that other classes can heal better than mesmers or chronos. Therefore, you might as well focus on lowering the cool downs of other classes so that they can heal allies faster instead of directly trying to heal allies. However, this build wouldn’t focus on healing allies but negating damage all together. More specifically, it would negate the single big attacks that could kill with one blow. Maybe in the future there will be a raid boss where this matters and people need distortion to survive. Perhaps this future boss will be immune to blinds and cc. Who knows what the devs will come up with. However, as of right now, I have to agree that heal chrono/mes will not be very useful.
Schrödingers Clone: PvP Mesmer
See this is what really irks me at the moment with ‘meta builds’ if you arent a chronomancer regular mesmer has no place at all.
There are all the possible combinations for mesmers and other classes but if chronomancer isnt in there then chances are the build isnt ‘viable’ or nobody will want you within the group.
Guess i wont be playing mesmer for a while then.
Greetings!
I invented the Heal-O-Mancer long ago and it is already sorta a thing. Mes is totally viable as a decent healer, but normally it’s simply better to take a druid instead.
You can use the Heal-O-Mancer as a tank tough, yet it’s not that wise since you’ll normaly should stay to your team with it (unlike Druid who has ranged heal). Unfortunately, if you are not tanking, your tank does have to have 1700 toughness due the mantra channel toughness … Yet for Sabetha it’s a very good option to use a Heal-O-Mancer and replace the druid with a dps profession or use a dps druid for spirits and buffs and raw dmg.

This is my original post from long ago. It is outdated and there are many things I’d do different now. As of todate I would go with this:
- Superior Sigil of Concentraition for 98% boon dura (it’s not in the editor …)
- SoI or WoR according to your allies
If you got questions go ahead

Xyonon, that’s pretty similar to what I recommended except minstrel instead of zealots for tanking. He doesn’t want to chrono >_> cause he wants to “stick it to the meta.”
not really stick it to the meta, i run a ‘meta’ staff/tempest ele just dont like chrono.
Would rather have seen mesmer with dual pistols – that would be have been hella fun
A mesmer without chrono has no place in a group and since a supporter needs a group he can support, chrono is a must.
