help with mesmer pls, need quick replys
Hey guys I was wondering how a Mesmer disappeares so many times when I come across a Mesmer…. other than stealth is there a way for Mesmer to suddenly disappear?
Mesmers have at maximum four stealth effects + one trait:
- Desperate Decoy is a long-cooldown trait which cloaks the Mesmer at 25% HP. Very, very few Mesmers will have this, as virtually any build needs the slot for a different trait.
- Torch 4. 3s stealth on a 30s CD.
- Decoy. 3s stealth on a 40s CD.
- Mass Invisibility. 5s stealth on a 90s CD, this can apply to nearby allies, though it caps at 10 targets.
- Veil. 6s lasting wall on a 90s CD, walking through it grants 2s of non-stacking stealth, so in theory someone can walk through it twice or thrice. But you can see where the wall is, so you would know where they are.
So in other words, no, Mesmers don’t really have a lot of stealth. A fair few effects, but all on individually long CDs, so once chained together there’s a distinct downtime until they can stealth again.
There are also teleports which can get to unexpected places (up some walls for example).
Complimenting Carighan’s post, PU also increases stealth duration by a second. Other than that, no, mesmers don’t have a lot of stealth. With staff & Sword/X they do have an abundance of teleporting abilities on relatively short cooldowns along with Blink.
Weapon skills that gives stealth or could look like stealth:
Staff: Phase Retreat that creates a clone and teleports the mesmer away from the target.
Sword: Illusionary Leap, a clone leaps to the target, the mesmer can then switch places with the target and immobilize the target. This can be used with delay so the mesmer teleports where the target was 3 seconds ago, to work as a evade, could look like stealth.
Torch: The Prestige, Stealth+blind for 3 sec + AOE burning after 3 sec (can break stealth earlier).
