first of all i like to apolegies for all the typos i made sofar and the ones im gonna make

now thats out fo the way lets begin ^^

i made this build for mesmer with the goal to command,
the problem alwais is with mesmers that although their clones and utiletys make em very usefull for zerg fights, they mostly dont live long enough to actuely do something or if they do they have 0 outgoing damage

with this build i think i got surviving fixed and with the combination of doing both condi damage and decent direct damage(note that its for zerg figths so keep in mind that might and food etc is a standard most times here)

also i think its good enough for roamers since doing avarage damage with alot healing armor and health is a very anoying combination to have against you + that mesmers arent really one’s favorite 1v1 opponent anyway in most cases

i would love to see what you guys think abouth it i tested it alot already in smaller scale figths and in spvp-roaming wvw aswell and it worked pretty good

i used the buildmaker with ascended gear but i use exotic myself and it works fine for what its intended so it helps but ascended is not a must

also i’l put a picture with my basic stats with this build without food or anything

I wouldn’t imagine commanding on a mesmer without 3x mantra of concentration. Leave the Null fields/Feedbacks to other mesmers; Veil is fine because you hopefully know when to drop it best.

Even if I tend to agree with Sandrox in saying that Guardian makes a better commander “by design” (self healing, leaps, stability, protection, blocks), I did command on my mesmer.

Some notes from my experience:

  • the most important thing for you is survival. You don’t build to tag, have heavy burst or anything else, if you are commanding, your survival is top priority.
  • you really want mantra of concentration
  • you might want blink, too, to use as a substitute for a proper leap
  • depending on your group composition, you might want mantra of resolve for removing immobilize, but 2 mantras are hard to recharge
  • if there’s another mesmer you trust, they can take veil, otherwise you’ll probably need it
  • the blocks on scepter and off-hand sword are bad. They only block 1 hit, their damage counterattack will likely miss and you’ll randomly move around when the clone spawns and that’s bad for who’s following you
  • your clones will confuse your zerg
  • same goes for single-target stealth (decoy, torch)
  • focus is nice for pulling enemies where you want them
  • staff is a nice defensive weapon, but again, phase retreat will confuse the hell out of the people that are trying to follow you
  • Illusionary Membrane is nice because protection is very strong
  • Triumphant distortion is nice (altough it’s a heavy investment in a pure “damage” traitline)
  • Traited focus for reflects doesn’t really work in a zerg
