phantasmal fury
My phantasms die after a single skill use anywys, not on target death, not when I shatter, they just use their skill and die a second later so its all completely pointless anyways. Sorry.
So why do we choose to ignore it?
well if you are fighting a bad player, yes, this could be a problem, but then again you are against a BAD player so it should not be actually a problem… i think this hurts more on the PvE side most summon skills have more than 10sec CD i think a 20sec fury would be fair

This is not happening with me. Phantasmal Berskers, Wardens and Warlocks only die when taking damage, shattered, or on target death.
ye i was referring to pve, pvp is a different ballpark.
i was dishing out most damage with wardens as they are great aoe dmg (something i find we’re lacking) and with sig of illusions and defender (as the defender 50%s the dmg they take also) they can stand up to quite a chunk of damage. i found also with sword focus, as the wardens are whirl finishers using curtain allows for a cleansing bolt combo which is nice for condi removal (another thing i think we’re lacking)

Yeah, I assume my kitten is completely fk’d and I’m more than a little on edge atm. So I’m sorry for my attitude.

I wasn’t aware of this, where have you seen this change? It doesn’t really matter much though because you can refresh 3 illusions in 20 seconds.
The real question is how in the world you’re keeping an iWarden alive for 20 seconds.

Just checked, buff still lasts indefinitely.
I think the big thing it’s to stop is someone stealing it, ie. a mesmer uses swap on an enemy phantasm and gains 2 hours of fury….free 20% crit.
ah nice catch malakree, hadn’t thought of that, incredo sneaky. i was finding that it was just 10 sec and no refresh, but i haven’t checked today, so i’ll do that later

This was changed in order to avoid exploiting boon stealing. In mes vs mes, a smart mesmer could use Arcane Thievery on an opposing mesmer phantasm and gain a 2 hour fury buff.
What they should have done is just given him a +20% crit damage buff rather than the boon. Can’t be stolen, can’t be cleansed, can’t interfere with retaliation. Best solution IMO.
This is not a nerf. This is a buff.
It is a refreshing 10 second boon on the Phantasm. Every 10 seconds the boon gets refreshed. What this means is if it’s stolen it will be back within 10 seconds instead of say waiting 2 hours.
I repeat again. This is a buff. Test it for yourselves if you must.

Why?
There’s a perfectly normal and readily understandable ingame +20% crit buff already. It’s called Fury, and being a boon everyone understands how it works right away.
Also, why should it not be stealable in the first place?

It could be broken then by people who manage to give the fury buff in addition to it.
I think the way it is now is okay. Sure, people can steal it for a short time, but that is fine and surely part of the game balance.

Arcane Thievery working? Why I havent been able to steal all those shiny boons from Guardian? and sec ago watched livestream when it failed again steal any boons from a thief that got all those boons after using traited steal.

I’ve had it work now and again. It just seems prone to failing a lot more than any other skill I’ve used.
On duelist the fury buff is now refreshed constantly. On the other phantasms it’s only around for 10-20s and not refreshed. I don’t know which one is intended and which one is the bug. It’s not worth taking the trait unless using the duelist now.
Hmm, my biggest issues with AT working have been the range (900, when I try to use it at 901 range), and enemy block (Aegis)/evade.

I used it on some underwater DE boss and I stole some nice buffs. I think it was speed, regeneration and protection. Each buff was 20 minutes long. :-)
Also used it to steal might buffs from the shaman DE boss in the charr starting area. I think it was 40 stacks of might. :-)
