power/crit/prec build for WvW
which rune should i use? divinity or try to get tough/vit runes?
I think we are versatile enough you can go with w/e you like. I am personally sacrificing a bit to use Centaur runes for near perma swift with the 15 CD heal. I do just fine in wvw (using a power/prec build btw with GS/Sword-Pistol or Gs/Staff, I switch it up a bit).
but aren’t we too squishy? like atm i have so much power/perc/crit i only got 15.5k hp

Well.. in WvW u’r usually going against 20+ players..

I went for 20/20/0/20/10 spec.
I run full Knight’s (Tough/Precision/Power) armor and Berserker Jewelry/Weapons. This gives me enough Toughness to survive AOE without worrying about it and the spec gives me a small boost in Vit. It gives me enough offense to basically run over anything that isn’t spec’d out particularly defensive. I always have perma vigor up cause of how often I crit.
Traits can be debatable on some points but I’ve found this to be the ideal mix for how I play. It’s a modified version of the Phantasm Build for WvW. The 20% reduction in Phantasm attacks is useless since they typically die after doing one attack. Instead I took 10 more in Power for the 100 power, +50 power with GS, and most importantly a huge reduction in cool downs for GS abilities (brings Berserker down to 12s which is a whopping 40% reduction on use). I prefer Deceptive Evasion over 15% damage on something that dies in one hit as well (plus it’s more Precision/Crit Damage).
I use Centaur Runes entirely for Swiftness. They add more power and when you use the Focus Swiftness then your Heal it’s enough that those two can be rotated for perma Swiftness.
Oh and the reason why I like Deceptive Evasion is it’s the only way to generate ranged attacking clones with a Greatsword. I’ve setup many escape maneuvers and confused the enemy using it. For example using Evade Back, Evade Right, Decoy then come out of stealth and just auto attack you’ve setup 4 targets that are stationary and auto attacking with Spatial Surge at range. It’s also amazing in those 1v1 scenarios where you’re using Sword/Focus in melee and if you roll around a few times and hit your clone move it’s easy to fool the enemy when they have 4 guys chasing them in melee.
Not everyone’s going to agree on that point but again for my play style it simply works.
I think some of it depends on what sort of squads you run with. If you focus more on siege/defense on camps/keeps, I’d side with Kodiak and go for Knight’s runes for the extra survivability. If you do more roaming & supply line running, I’d go with Centaur.
And if you’re really serious about it, get an armor set for each playstyle so you can be flexible.

Pretty much this. Though I run with Sword/Focus & Staff and have been using Mirror instead of Decoy. Can’t decide which one I like better.
As for gear/stats, been going more of a power and condition approach. Using Superior runes of the Krait on my gear.

Eh? I have over a thousand kills in the top EU bracket and I barely ever die, and especially not to AoEs. Most of it is situational awareness, the rest is having Blink and the 180 flip bound to easy access keys, having fast-cast enabled, having red circles enables (default). If the situation is extra sticky, like taking over a bridge under heavy fire, I also get Portal, place one end at a safe-ish location, and lead the charge for as long as I feel like it, then portal out.
