I have just picked up GW2 and im having alot of fun. I do have a question about thet background at character creation thou. I was unaware at the time that when you pick between charm,dignity and feroicty that I was actually picking something that had a stat effect. Which of these is best for a mezmer?

It has no affect on gameplay at all, it just affects NPC dialog options.

Oh I Thought when i moused over it and it showed a few barbs with icons next to them that it ment something

as said no effect on gameplay. Now I think Charm is clearly the best (RP perspective) for a Mesmer.

Furthermore your choices ingame will influence personality so it can still change should you chose actions befitting another persona.
I’d say both charm and dignity befit a mesmer. Mesmers are sophisticated, not ferocious like boorish thugs.

Sorry but mine in 50/50 Charm/Ferocity which equals Roguish and I certainly think of the Don Juan, and Count of Monte Cristo as our type of personality. I can certainly see the Robin Hood personality for a Norn which I happen to be. So I disagree, but it also doesn’t make us a thug, but a charming rogue.
