Guild Wars 2

I like the memser, the whole idea of the class is awesome I think. However, it seems to be lacking from what people say. I don’t mind having to build skill and strategy to play it, but will skill make up for its short commings? I don’t want to get end game to find out I’m getting owned 90% of the time in pvp/pve or people don’t want to party with me because of what it lacks.

Why are you wasting your time here, while you could be playing mesmer?

I am playing mesmer currently.

If you’re not afraid of hardwork, trial and error, and skill refinement go ahead. The mesmer is a great and very fun class but it is in no ways easy, unless you play a braindead PU condition spec.

I’m actually looking forward to putting a lot of time into learning a profession that is challenging. I just want to make sure my efforts wont be for naught. I don’t want to spend my time mastering the sword to find out everyone else is driving tanks around, if you follow me.

Well, they are driving tanks. It’s just that Mesmer has the capability to infiltrate those tanks and stab the drivers with their sword. As you can imagine there’s a sufficient amount of work involved.

If you want to PvE record runs: Yes.
If you want to be really efficient to pugs or semi co-ordinated groups: No, roll guard.
PvP: Thief simply outclasses it at the moment but Mesmer is a lot of fun.
WvW: Can I get a veil? Where’s my veil? GIVE ME A VEIL!!

Mesmers are nice, they have some good things about them and are fun but they’re a pain to level and certainly subpar in PvE. In PvP a thief will wreck you a lot unless you’re very good and they’re very bad however outside of top tier it’s a lot of fun and worth it.

WvW if zerging all people care about is veil and portal. Can still be fun, check out Menaka’s thread on his many many WvW builds.

TLDR: they have issues but are fun, try it and see if you like it.

Zex i did tell you to try out mesmer last time we talk you can stick with ele if you want don’t try to ask around will only confused you more follow your heart

You said you like mage stuff then one thing i can guarantee you that both Ele and Mes are worth your time.
