signet phantasm build comeback
All depends on MMR. This will get torn apart by many current meta builds. Also might stacks should not be a thing with this build with anyone playing a competent mesmer canceling their GS auto. I wish imagined burden worked with this optimal way to play but it doesn’t. For sure mental anguish should be there.
The dom/insp/chrono shatter build that is so popular for folks who actually want to run power shatter and not die instantly (though not meta) is pretty much this build without the signets.
I think someone did calculation based on spatial surge only, and concluded that cancel attack deals more damage than full casting spatial surge even if you build up might. Reason being that spatial surge deals terrible damage each full strike so even with might or runes of strength its not worth it over extra hits.
Signit play can be really good if you’re the sort of person who can make use of it. But it’s not for everyone.
Can be a real pain.

gs is good with team play as you can build might for your F1 combo
was really fun to play even did some 1v2 on mid couple of time
thief didnt manage to kill me
versus DH can be hard with all the aoe so need to shatter fast and make my clone to lure his traps and not my phantasm
all other was doable and handle
had always 3 illusions out when i need them
but staff lack the burst of the gs combo but 2 warlock 10k was nice time to time

I have a hard time believing you can fight Thieves in this relatively squishy build. I mean sure the Distortions off the Signets can add a bit, but 1s is just rarely long enough to have a major impact, especially when it’s activated by a 1 sec to 1.5 sec cast time Signet. (On Midnight it would work well to avoid 1-2 attacks, but even with the recent buffs, Midnight is still pretty bad IMO. )
I only say all this because I’ve played similar builds a lot lately, and always end back at the same conclusion that our Power damage output is woefully inadequate for what we give up in sustain to get it. (Making the distortion effect last for ~1.5s and/or making all Signets cast times ~.25 seconds or instant, would go a long way in making Signet builds more viable IMO.)

its not only the distortion rather also many illusions out which confuse most player and blocks with shield , daze, stun and phantasm dmg in between
i only killed 2 thieves but most just disengage and reengage but the cap is mine….
DH is the pain with aoe on the point which make it harder
