sword #3 + swap, how to use it?
It fails to do anything at all because you started it just outside of its active range. It doesn’t matter where you are when the cast finishes, if you weren’t in range when you started, it’s going to fail (at least for this one).
As far as the clone stopping halfway, this is something I’m seeing only somewhat recently, but I suppose it’s been here awhile. I think it has something to do with how they handle terrain. Even ground and uphill seems to work just fine, but downhill not so much
There`s no trick to it, just play more and get a feel of it. At the start i`ve had same problems but after putting enought time in to practice, now works for me 90% time.
I think most people want to use Illusionary Leap as a gap closer but after using it for awhile, I’ve found that with the target in range requirement that you should instead use it while you are already close. It’s really good at keeping enemies from moving away just before you use Blurred Frenzy since you can’t move. I then use Swap after I dodge an attack to get right back to attacking them.
hmm weird, I always try to make sure I am in range when I cast it and it still fails for me from time to time, I don’t know if the clone is instagibbed by some random aoe but often the skill goes on cooldown and nothing happens.
Due to lag and/or possibly buggy range indicators, sometimes you are not in range when you think you are.
Also, keep in mind if you are just at the edge of summon range and the prey suddenly boosts their speed and widens the gap for just an instnat, you’re back out of range and out of luck.
As a suggestion, consider starting with GS and casting iZerker first. It has a far longer range, does decent damage, and cripples. Once they are crippled you can catch up to them easily, iLeap x2 for the immob, then blurred frenzy their face off.
iLeap only works reliably if the target isn’t moving or moving slow. My favorite combo is iWarden, then Illusionary Curtain—>Into the Void to yank them (hopefully into the range of iWarden) then while they are knocked down from the pull iLeapx2 to immobilize them and shred them between Blurred Frenzy and iWarden.
Then if I’m feeling particularity mean, Cry of Frustration, swap to staff, drop chaos storm over all of us, start casting iWarlock and Phase Retreat mid cast to get Chaos Armor from the Storm. Being able to Phase Retreat mid-cast is very useful.
I am not talking max range either, maybe I am remembering it wrong but I seriously had nothing happen on 300-400 range. When I am using this skill I always expect that it will probably fail.
May be you casting it like – Super Fast? srsl it works fine after you use it in like 5-10 games.
