hi. I never really played much necro before but after trying out reaper in beta i am kinda thinking about switching.. I mainly play wvw also.

Ok so I got 2 questions.

1. does necro really take 50% less dmg in death shroud? I asked some ppl half of them say there is no dmg reduction, other half says there is.
also a few days ago i was on my ele and i was doing 5.3k crits with my staff fire 1 skill.. if there was a 50% dmg reduction that would mean i would do over 10k with every 1 hit which isnt possible.. then some ppl told me that the number i see are wrong and that the dmg the necro take in DS isnt the same as the dmg i see on my screen.. so what is up there?

2. Im pretty sure this is bs but i feel like I should ask this too… does necro DS proc the +10% from ‘superior sigil of the night’? I mean like even during the day, when u go into DS would u do proc the 10% dmg inc. from that sigil?
Normally I wouldnt ask this… but when I do go into DS my screen turns dark while I am in it… (like grey-ish, and its only stuff like names, char models ect that turn grey-ish, chat and mini map stay normal color).. so because of that darkening I feel like i should at least ask..

so ye.. thanks.

For point one, kind of. The same numbers pop up in the combat log regardless of if you are in death shroud or out, but while in if you take a 2k hit you will only lose 1k life force, so its like having 50% damage reduction.

As for point two, I wish. Sigil of night only works if its actually night, you can’t cheat it. Unless your going to be running night time dungeons/fractals frequently its not worth using because over half the time it has no effect.

This.
Just to clarify, it would be the same to assume you’re taking regular damage and that the number on your lf bar is actually double.
However, the reason we say there’s a damage reduction is that when we take damage that overflows to our regular health, the correct amount will be substracted from your life force.
