Q:

Hey,

I wanted to make a quick list on how to fix Necromancer, especially Curses tree, give it more synergy, help it define traitlines and preserve usefulness for most builds.

These by no means solve all Necromancer problems, nor affect all traitlines in need of some changes, but in my opinion, improve Necromancer a lot.

1. Restore Putrid Mark by giving it 1 ally condition cleanse back.

2. Do something about Feast of Corruption. Give it some condition application instead of damage modifier based on number of condition. Can be Weakness or Torment. Small endurance restoration per condition wouldn’t hurt.

3. Up the Bleeding on Grasping Dead, Enfeebling Blood and restore Mark of Blood to 3 stacks. Remove Barbed Precision minor.

New 1 point Curses minor:

Virulence
Your Condition Duration is increased by 15%. Apply 3 stacks of Vulnerability (10s) to yourself when you enter the Shroud.

4. Terrifying Descent – This trait now also restores 10% Life Force when you Fear someone. ICD 5s.

5. Plague Sending – This trait now also grants Fury (10s) when you transfer a condition. ICD 10s.

6. Chilling Darkness – Now your Dark Fields also last 2 seconds longer.

7. New Curses Master Minor:

Corrupted Heart
Your Shroud skill 1 now also transfers 1 Condition for 3 seconds after entering the Shroud. (In case of Life Blast, it turns into Plague Blast for this period).

8. Consume Condition is no longer Corruption skill and doesn’t apply self-Vulnerability. Cooldown brought back to 25 seconds. Now if you Consume 3 or more conditions with this skill, it’s cooldown is reduced by 5 seconds.

Master of Corruption now also improves Corruption skills:

- Corrupt Boon – Corrupts 1 more Boon in 300 radius around the target

- Corrosive Poison Cloud – Now blocks projectiles

- Blood is Power – Now grants 10% Life Force and applies 12 stacks of Might for 12 seconds.

- Epidemic – Now a Blast Finisher on yourself and on the target

9. Path of Corruption – Now your Shroud Skill 2 is also 50% faster. (Same travel distance, but less travel time)

10. Weakning Shroud switches places with Terror.

Terror now merged with Fear of Death. Conditions on targets affected by Terror cannot be cleansed. (You have to break Fear first).

11. New Curses Grandmaster Minor:

Parasitic Contagion
You are healed for 10% of your condition damage done.

12. New Curses Grandmaster Major:

Spiteful Spirit
Targets affected by your Weakness condition and their allies within 240 range now take X damage when they attack (ICD 1s per foe). Your Weakness duration is increased by 20%. Damage done by this trait is affected by Parasitic Contagion.

Disclaimer: Attack with direct damage.

13. Dhuumfire – When you interrupt a foe, your next Burning has 300% increased duration.

14. New Soul Reaping Major trait (replacing Fear of Death).

Feast of Souls
Whenever you gain Life Force, Heal allies for 30% of it in 300 radius.

16. Replace Soul Comprahension Death Magic Master Minor:

Phylactery
When you reach 25% health gain Phylactery effect for 5 seconds.

If your health reaches 0 under Phylactery effect, return back to life with 25% of your health and Invulnerability (2s). ICD 60s

17. Reaper’s Protection now also inflicts Poison (1s) in 300 radius around you every time you receive critical strike (ICD 2s).

18. Beyond the Veil – Now affects your Minions (any range) and your allies (240 range).

19. Unholy Sanctuary now doesn’t activate Shroud when you take fatal damage.
Instead, it gives you Aegis (3s) when you enter the Shroud.

20. Rending Claws (Axe skill 1) is now a siphon.

21. Death’s Embrace – No longer increases downstate damage (nobody likes that). Now increases critical strike chance by 2% per each unique condition on the target.

That would be it

Couple more:

1. Remove Vulnerability from Rending Claws, add 1 Vulnerability to each of Ghastly Claws attacks, final hit applies 8 stacks.

2. Range of Rending Claws and Ghastly Claws increased by 300 in both cases. Now we have ranged power weapon.

3. Unholy Feast getting a Blast Finisher

4. Wail of Doom getting a Blast Finisher

5. Reduce the cast time on Life Siphon by 2 seconds, reduce the damage by 10%, up the healing power scalling.

6. Shroud skill #1 is now either projectile finisher or whirl finisher

7. Now I was thinking about some change to… Minionmaster. Specifically, how to up their value in PvE and WvW while keeping them at bay in tPvP.

Soo… What if each Minion skill after traiting into one of MM traits created more/one more minion(s) on activation based on corpses around?

Maybe limit it to just one more copy of the minion skill, make bonus minions lesser and degenerate over time.

There are not many bodies around in tPvP, however, in PvE and WvWvW? Quite a lot.
Would maybe make the feeling of controlling a horde better, when not breaking the competivie PvP.

Single strong minions imo just don’t work in this game, so let us spam lesser ones instead
