Since you have Rabid gear, you’re not going to get much use out of power. Go with the second build. Take Terror. Use the necro runes if you think you need the extra fear duration, otherwise use undead.
I’d like to see you pull that 80 point trait build off

i am using full rabid and put 0/30/10/0/30.
lots of fear, condi damage, and 2 sources of stability with well of power.
with your lack of power, i wouldn’t go with spite/curses unless you had carrion gear.
Dhuumfire is so not worth it for condition builds, a measly 4sec burn on a 10sec recharge and single target.
Spite is so useless, power won’t gain you anything and the +30% cond duration is much better spend elsewhere.
i really wish Dhuumfire was in the curses tree instead of spite it a great skill for condition and would mean we could have access to all condition then but 30 deep may be abit much even with it giving 30% condition duration

burn would be OP in the curses line. as its in the power line you’ll either have to sacrifice survivability or condition damage to get access to burn which is good in my opinion.

We shall see. You forget that 30 spite’s condi duration will bump the burn duration up from its listed amount (at least that’s how it should work). And with 1200+ condi damage, burn will hit pretty hard. Add bleeds, poison, and fear to that and you get a huge amount of overall DoT. The burn can also be spread with epidemic making it not so single target.

Maybe in team pvp, outside where you can use food, that burn can easily get up to 7 or 8 seconds. That is about 75% up time, and plenty left over to epidemic which takes care of the single target.
That 7-8 second burn is also covering for your bleed, poison, etc, or vice versa.
Only thing I don’t like is the tree gives power and you need to buff back up precision to actually proc the darn thing, pretty much forces a hybrid stat build.
30/20/10/0/10 is the build I came up with and use. The burn is great with bleed-bursting and chain fearing.
running 0/30/10/0/30, the new soul reaping gm trait (gives me 100% crit chance) is insane with sigil earth and the curses minor that procs bleeds, and fear is just trolololol

I’m going 30/30/10/0/0 with rabid gear.
I’m going 30/30/10, undead runes, and the Khilbron set (for the precision and the toughness).
I was already planning to switch to power necro, axe/focus d/wh build, with the new 1200 ft lifeblast 43% damage (pure win for power mancer btw), but then i figured out that with this condimaster build, and enough precision, we condimancer are going to hit hard. Sure, the +300 power is useless, but the +30% condi duration is nice, and it would have been really too easy to give us all the tool !
This new build will be a real upgrade of my condimaster build based on bleed proc, and i’m also quite glad they gave us a new ds ability to play with for condimancer.
Can’t wait to play and see the tick, (and i hope they designed thoses burn effect greeny for us ! )

30/30/10/0/0 for PvE, 0/30/10/0/30 for WvW. You need the stability over burning in WvW, getting targeted left and right.
I’m liking 30/30/10/0/0 with rampager amulet, soldier jewel, ele runes, axe/dagger + staff
Spite: 6, 8, 11
Curses: 6, 9, 12
Death: 2
Using Signet of Spite, Spectral Walk, Spectral Wall, and Flesh Golem (could use any elite really).
This is just spvp… haven’t done any tourney yet. The burning with 66% chance to cause bleeds on crits, and many ways to keep weakness up is very nice to say the least.
I went 30/30/10 all the way. Terro & Doomfire. Now I run enfeebling blood, spectral wall and epidemic / spectral grasp, and man, ITS AWESOME. spectral wall was exactly the peel I needed to get away for a second and heal.
My version of 30/30/10 will probably be meta. Ill talk about it on the upcoming SOTG. Been running it for months now in all the streamed/prize tournies with my team.

The extra pressure from burning and torment really swings things into our favor and it’s nice to put mesmers and d/d eles on the defensive for once. Spectral wall also lets you do a full 100% to dead combo on anyone foolish or inexperienced enough to not bring a stun break.

Atleast I am not the only one who had fun today. Finally we got something to deal with thieves efficiently. I love how spectral wall now gives me a moment to breathe and settle before the basilisk venom hits, or the thieve backstabs me. And I freaking love how the thief gets rooted if he stays too close too long. Also. Running like a thief now is fine with me. He’ll go down in a sec ^^. I feel like I can finally roam my necro a bit, without getting insta backstabbed.
Although I admit, I took Dhuumfire just for fun.
I actually went 30/30/10/0/0 myself with rabid and I’m enjoying it quite abit actually in WvW as I’ve been using rune of the necromancer for the 20% fear duration, plus the food which is 40% on conditions, plus the trait points another 30%, not quite 100% but I’ve noticed double ticks going off, plus with the new burning and other conditions which I spread around with a epidemic been pretty fun so far.

I don’t mean to pile on here but it needs to be said especially for necros looking for stat advice:
Of all the individual stats in all the necro trait lines 30% condition duration is by far the best for a condition necro. It’s not only the largest dps increase in most cases, it also increases your survivability by extending the duration of debuffs like weakness and chill.
The most common dig against condi duration is that, with the prevalence of cleanses in PvP it’s mostly wasted. While that’s true to a point it’s important to remember that the longer your conditions stick, the more they will cover other conditions or require a cleanse themselves.
No stat does as much work as condition duration.
I just did a bunch of sPvP games with Full Rabid Necromancer Runes 30/30/10 Dhumfire, and omfg people are half health in like 2 secs. I mean i love my wells but this was just soo good, i hardly even look at my utilities because a few attacks and their HP is already gone, i just used watever, signet of locust/wall/WoS.
Conditions just got a whole lot better. Talk about pressure master.
I ran 30/30/10/0/0 prior to the patch to achieve 100% duration on conditions and now that we got burning on crits it’s even better: people melt with 8s burning every 10 on top of other conditions we can apply So i’d go with your first build
This patch made me return to my necro and i’m considering to buy a direct damage set to try the new wells as well
I am going to try 30/20/20/0/0 in WvW and see how that pans out in zerg v zerg fighting. Staff/Scepter/Dagger with a Rabid/Carrion mix and undead runes. Spite: V, VII, XII; Curses: Chilling Darkness/Terror (I forget which numbers they are since the change); Death: II, V.
Take Spectral Wall, Spectral Walk, Epidemic and Plague as utilities. As Staff gets much more use in WvW zerg fights than Sceptre/Dagger it seemed (to me at least) sensible to trait for that over 30 in Curses.

And it’s amazing. You can also swap spectral wall for something else(I’ve been trying with spectral armor, which is very good now, and it adds quite a lot to our survivability, especially when focused, so I’m probably going to run with that). CB isn’t worth taking anymore, since the main reason of using it was to get stability off players, but it’s quite unreliable now.
