So as we are heading into PoF, one of my main criticism of the Scourge is that it’s Elite, Ghastly Breach, feels quite similar gameplay-wise to Plaguelands. The problem with Ghastly Breach is that it’s created in such a way that it synergises well with Feed from Corruption.
So instead, I’d strongly suggest ArenaNet to change Plaguelands yet again and spice it up in such a way that both abilities would differ more from each other.
My suggestion for it is included below in attachements. But, being honest, anything cool would do, even being able to ground-target place Plaguelands. Or maybe attach it to an enemy with a skillshot?
Well they share some similarities. But i think they just need to tune it fully into a defensive tool. Make it a powerfull “ohshit” button.
Let it pulse protection, resistance and stability to allies, slow and weakness to foes. It’s a stunbreak and while we are inside this dome we basicly are a sand shade, being immune to all damage and conditions. Keep the boon corrupt part as usual for these skills.
New Elite is an punishment skill aswell so it synergises with the Sadistic Trait hence why atm I prefer it as my Elite. CD-reducton and the xtra burn is nice.
CttB is still my fav for the class, multi use

Plaguelands should definetly have some defense in it.
The new elite is perfect for offense with its lower CD. if it moved with necro itd be even better
But back to plague.
IT USED TO BE THE DEFENSIVE ULTI.
Its fair design to have defenses higher cooldowns.
Our corruption cloud already kills projectiles, a good defense to an otherwise offensive skill group, as example.
I dont want to sound like a nostalgist, but id definetly want some pulsing blinds to synergize with other traits.
What plague gave us is stability, pulsing stuff around us and some defensive, maybe this theme should come back, giving us like stab and resistance and pulsing utility conditions around us (weakness, poison, blind, cripple).

But not removing enemy conditions it copies from of course. Probably very useless though lol.
