I wanted to get a little feedback on a build I’ve been using and see if there is any room for improvement. It’s built around using Death Shroud more defensively and I run it with Cleric’s for the increased power / toughness / healing power. This is under an ideal scenario with numbers and expectations. Please take a look and tell me what you think. Thanks.

Looks fine. Your damage is gonna kinda suck, though. Where do you plan on using this? I generally find Spite to be better than Death Magic, run much more damage-spec armor and weapons, and use Wells as much as possible. You’re still hard as hell to put down but you also melt face.

Also, you don’t need Signet of the Locust if you take Quickening Thirst.

I main Ele and Necro, though I have an alt of each profession at level 80.

first before we help you with your build you need to tell us which role you are focusing on in SPVP.

1. bunker
2. DPS
3. Hyrid

your selection of sgli, rune and amulet seems weird. You are not tanky enough to bunker and also you are lacking in dps if you intend to go dps. If you are going hyrid you should use cele amulet

bunker :
vampirewell bunker build
Spectral Bunker
MM minon master bunker

DPS:
powerwell dps build
standard power nerco build

Hyrid:
cele signet build

Right now I’m using it in PvE but I would like to use it in WvW maybe. I might look into swapping out Spite, but I chose Death Magic for more passive condition management and healing while in Death Shroud. Plus the Deadly Strength trait kind of boosts the power I’m lacking from other areas.

I’m looking to go more of a bunker / heal build. I chose those sigils and runes to maximize the life steal and healing as much as I could. I’ll look into the bunker build examples you suggested and see how they work. Thanks for the feedback so far, I have more to work with now in order to improve.

Not sure this is gonna work in WvW. You really need some serious punch in WvW, otherwise you’re not gonna be able to outdamage your opponents’ heal skills (and if you go up against someone with even heavier healing, like a D/D Elementalist, you’re just totally screwed). It’s fine for PvE because everything’s fine in PvE, and also because there’s almost no healing so it’s fine to take forever to grind mobs to dust, but it’s not gonna work so well when you give enemy players two-week’s notice that you want them dead.

Go for more damage if you take this into WvW, for sure. Or don’t and just run with a zerg. Hard to go wrong when a couple dozen other players are throwing skills beside you.
