A way to improve axe damage
while they’re at it it would be nice to have a skill chain added to #1, #2 made to cleave, and #3 augmented to be a blast finisher.
voila, axe is a viable weapon
I’ve stayed at this party entirely too long
Would make more sense as a Master level than Adept.
If they moved Axe Training out of Master, it would most certainly have to be toned down (Maybe +10% Damage and 20% Cooldown Reduction?). Having both Axe Training and Close To Death (in it’s current form) might put axe damage over the top. The #2 can already reach respectable damage with the right spec and gear.

Exactly, i made a post before where i ran as full glass cannon with axe. The damage is no where close to a guardian who has much less attack and crit damage than me. This would definitely improve axe, also not many traits in Adept are useful imo

The number 2 is nothing….
My Thief auto attacking puts my Necro throwing everything into an attack to shame. 2 x wells, 25 stacks of vlun, #2 Axe < Thief auto attack.
80 Ranger (3), 80 Warrior (3), 80 Thief (3)
80 Ele (2), 80 Engi (3), 80 Rev (2)
Yep.. I tend to agree with Avigrus here.
Yep.. I tend to agree with Avigrus here.Even with the right gear and a +10-20% dmg increase from a trait Ghastly Claws do a mediocre amount of damage compared to what every other class can put out in a burst specc, even with all the stacks of vulnerability. The fact that it hits only one target makes it even worse.

Especially considering what uber traits warriors get to boost dmg…
Master lvl trait: GS and Spear crits grant a stack of Might and 20% reduced CD on skills.
Master lvl trait: GS and Spears do +10% damage. (Remember these cleave and do a kittenload of more dmg than axe currently does even without this trait.)
Master lvl trait: Hammer skills do +25% dmg vs debilitated targets(what that means I have no idea even after playing a hammer warrior) and 20% reduced CD on skills.
And a kittenload of other useful traits for whatever weapon they can imagine using.

And axe is a pretty kitten useless weapon for WvW with that range anyway.

Something wierd happened with that post… wth… it should not look like that..
I’ve said it before, 2x staff#1 is actually more dmg than axe#2 (i don’t have axe training) and am a hybrid pwr/cond build. We all know that staff dmg is low but this humiliates axe completely- 2 staff autoattacks are better than the axe ‘burst’? -.- please…
make axe damage cleave damage.
Problem solved.

It’s like if Groundhog Day happened to a post instead of a person.
I’ll admit, I worry about the power of Axe Training – It seems like axe is just sub-par damage wise without it, and only at par with it.
It’s pretty obvious, and nobody’s impressed.
