This is mainly for WvW, a Powermancer who utilises \ds as often as possible.

Armour – Knights
Weapons+trinkets – Zerker Axe and Focus + staff
Rune – Strength x 6 (for the power and might bonuses)

30 vi viii x11
0
10 iv
0
30 ii vi xii

Well of suffering, blood is power, Locust signet

The main idea is to use focus 4 then axe 2 then go into ds and finish off, use the well for those that get too close, bip for added might.

Can anyone see any glaring problems (from your own experience) and how I may correct the build?

All advice appreciated

(maybe divinity runes for the added crit damage)?

Lyssia Iceblood of Gandara – I sometimes win… but not often :-(

Don’t get Divinity runes, use ruby orbs. If you’re using DS offensively then Axe training becomes a bit redundant, Chill of death adds a nice bit of burst and helps take down boon spammers. Shrouded removal on Death magic, will get rid of the Bleeding from BIP without having to worry about using staff #4.

Swap your axe for a dagger, Use your wells offensively (Dark Pact, WOS / WOC,) Reapers touch, pop DS and watch those crits fly.

I think, Axe training is useful, even in ds, as the damage in ds depends on the weapon and thier modifier, you had, when you entered ds. So you can take it in a power build that uses ds offensively.

But that doesnt mean you should take axe instead of dagger ( dagger is better in a power build and i like staff too much for axe, even with the nerfs….).

Edit: For WvW in groups you should take 10 in curses. The ranged wells are so good for that and in that case axe may be the better choice instead of dagger ( 1 aoe skill against 0 aoe skill)

Going 10 in Curses will also give you the option to switch between Focused Rituals and Weakening Shroud depending on the situation. Both are extremely useful.

I use 10/10/0/20/30 DS build (Reaper’s Might, Weakening Shroud, Bloodthirst, Quickening Thirst, Vital Persistence, Speed of Shadows/Unyielding Blast and Deathly Perception). PTV armor with Rune of Exuberance, Berserker trinkets and weapons. Axe + focus and dagger + dagger, Blood is Power and usually added Signet of Spite (3400-3800 attack w/ food, depending on BiP/SoS).

Don’t see big problems with your build. I just like more survivability (PTV armor + more vitality).

EDIT: Attack is more like 3300-3700 (can’t check now), used to have 20/0/0/20/30, but then changed for more useful traits at Curse 10.
