So After a healf year, i kind of decided to return, or at best measure, the game and decide, if i want to return or not.
After days of debating with myself, i decided to disregard all the billion things that irritate me, and start a whole new character-class-race. Progress slow, read all, explore, craft so on. Feels a bit better,though i still kind of find combat way to simple and boring, but i get over it, mostly by now.
But, if i consider, the game good and fun, even though, there are things that irritate me, to the edge of leaving, and i cant disregard to mention atleast a few things,that might sound a bit minor, but still destroy my gameplay.
I understand, this is “my” opinion, and it does not weight a lot (whitch is sad, considering, how much i praised and supported the game and the devs till now, besides the fact how much i also spent on the game-4 copy and like1000euro gems)
But still, this is not a personal request, instead a list of things that could be improved, in a way, that would make all sides happy.
By that i mean making these things “optional”.
Ok, so to topic :
At first of all, Necro is the class that is next to my soul. Its the tipical class that i would pick anytime. I like casters, and i love the dark, undead concept of the Necromancer. I played it in D&D games, and other rpg-s. I played it in Gw1 and loved it.
But ihave to admit, in Gw2, even though the concept is the same, the implementation of this concept is not what it supposed to feel (i think).
That might be due to the hybridism of the character (not the tankiness, the “meleeness”)
I kind of miss the feeling of a “real caster”. It might be me, “got used to good old paper and dice rpg” feeling, but still, i feel wied seeing the necro run there and stab ppl with dagger. (whitch would be not a problem, if it had more “caster” options)
A lot of players say “go scepter or staff then”. I agree, with that, but thats still a supplementary solution. Besides, that i dont like the scepter animation. It looks like “swinging it wildly” instead of some ritualistic casting. And that goes for almost all skills. They feel a bit underdesigned. Not really, like a “caster” would weawe spells.
My problem with the staff is its “auto attack” skill. The skill itself is decent, no complains (besides the fact it usually pulls in the half map thy to the penetrating attack). But the effect (that ugly black hand) looks terrible for my taste. Its ok, that you summon a choking black spectral hand or smt, but “shooting them” feels terrible.
I wish there would be an “option” to switch certaint skill effects.
You could unlock them, with story progress, dungeon tokens, or personal class quests or even with gems, or other store option.
I might mention, the dissapointment of minions, but i can deal with that.
So anyway, i would like to keep this post short at first, those are my thouts that came to me, and felt like need to be expressed after this big pause of the game.
I hope you understand what i try to say here, my english is terrible i know, but my exuse is that i didnt even learn it…i was forced to learn german.
