Aggro on the Necro.
Let’s not forget the Supervisors in WvW. Those kittens just can’t get enough of us. I use it to help people get some conditions (since they usually have Righteous Indignation) on them to bring them down.
I am not sure if I am accurate, but it does seem like the enemies like to come for us more often.

Sometimes I’ll be in a zerg with literally 30+ people, and the champion will just keep running and swinging after me like I owe it some money. Totally ignoring everyone else. Sometimes this makes me an awesome kite, but most times it makes me an awesome punching bag.
Yeah, we definitely take one…er…more like many, for the team. I try to mitigate it all to DS and (new favorite skill) Plauge form. I have, literally, been asked to come with a group because I am able to time when to blind and fear them so that I can be the masochistic Necro who now has a greater use. In the great words of Dr. Zoidberg: “I’m useful and having a wonderful time!” (Not really, please just allow us to be the best condition stackers since that is one of the core mechanics of our class. T_T)

Same here, condition necro. Maybe it’s the numbers of attacks/bleed per second or that I have high vit/toughness.
Sometimes I tell myself I just do awesome dps therefor I got the aggro and condition spec is the best.
Yes I have noticed this.
Something to do with boss targeting person with highest armor/vit I think.
The present aggro system is opaque to the point of RNG.
same here, doin arah and alphar just hates my necro. i run around a box just to try to lose agro but that guy just follows me, and only me, no stacks of bleeidng on him, no autoattacks cant hit him cause im just runnig around a box and that guys just keeps following me. its just funny. weird, but funny.
so for dungeon easy mode just get the fastest char to have the most vit/tough and rest of the team go glass cannons?

This is what I like to do as well. AOE Blind spam, AOE Condition Removal, AOE Boon Corruption, AOE Weakness, Plague Form Stability and Defense Boost. I’m constantly right in the middle of the fight laughing at enemy. Health low? DS and run away.

Switch to staff and drop marks for him to run to. I’ve noticed that when I pull aggro, a well timed staff#5 fear can send them away from me and to another teammate. You can also pop DS for a sec and hit them with #3.
I’ve noticed this too, I did nonstop supply runs to hit 80 and the supervisors always went for me. This isn’t for just condi necros, as I’m a bunker well build. I think the aggro is RNG at first but as more and more people realize how good plague actually is (found out the value of this skill at 40, but its good to see people utilizing this elite. It is my fav as we are bugged to kitten and this gives us the needed survivability the spirit trait line doesn’t.) Anyways, I don’t mind this. I’ve specced bunker just to tank. It gives me a role, and some sense of needed. Spamming blind (especially on a buffed supervisor) allowing my guild to take down an “immune” so to speak supervisor with ease is the only reason I’m still playing my necro. That and blinding a zerg of 30or more with WoD and plague blind for 10seconds and still getting out with dodgerolls and ds.
Unfortunately, this is all we have going for us. We are the tanks of gw2 in pve and wvwvw
Gw2 wiki says the factors that determine aggro listed by importance is:
1. closest target to them
2. who is dealing damage
3. top damage dealers
4. who is using a shield
5. others (see Tanking tactics below)
I can kind of see this with lupi because during phase one everyone is doing ranged attacks. Usually your party is going to be mostly guardians, warriors, and thieves. So when phase 2 comes along lupi is going to teleport directly to the guy that’s been stacking bleeds on him. I wonder if it’s just a bug that bosses sometimes don’t change targets, unshakable aggro doesn’t seem like it would be part of the game.
Engineers seem to have the same problem at times, as I play both. I think it might have to do with how many conditions are being applied or something. That would be my guess at least.
IIRC, it works pretty much by:
Toughness level
Vitality level
Presence of shield
Proximity
Presence of certain conditions. Cripple and chill are huge aggro dumps. Crippled and chilled things tend to attack by proximity, and don’t care about much else.
With my mesmer, I have 0 toughness invested in my build. I hardly ever get targeted.
With my engineer, I have full exotic knights gear. I never get left alone.
I died once in HoTW, respawned while my party were still fighting, ran back to the boss ,and the moment I did anything, he just went back to hitting me. It was scary.
