I think the name Necromancer Guild [DEAD] has a lot of support behind it. 4 votes that I can tell anyway. Considering it was not a choice under the initial poll I chose Lich Slap, but honestly I would much rather change my vote to Necromancer Guild [DEAD]. It just sounds too epic to pass up!

This made me laugh pretty good, also, I’m down to join! I have a lvl80 Necro that I haven’t touched since the launch of HoT and wouldn’t mind getting some help with it. I’ve become more interested in it since Scourge has been announced(Guardian main, currently struggling over Firebrand or Scourge for PoF) so this may just sway my favor toward Necro! As someone who mainly does PvE, here’s to hoping Scourge isn’t put on the bench for class compositions.

I really don’t like “Litch Slap”, it really doesn’t fit the necro theme .-.

Alright so, here’s the verdict.

First of all, Lich Slap won by one vote. We didn’t get a whole lot of votes on anything however. Less than 100 total and most people probably chose more than one name.

After I made the strawpoll, opinions seemed to change, though the poll didn’t necessarily reflect that.

It’s impossible to make everyone happy since everyone is going to have a different opinion on what name they think is best, so, I’m just going to go ahead and create it.

With that said, I will not in any way be offended or upset if people choose not to join based on the name. Nor will I be upset if someone wants to create their own all Necromancer guild. In fact, the only reason I did this was because there weren’t any other all Necromancer guilds that I knew of. I’d be happier to just join one rather than creating it myself but I wanted to bring our community together and wanted everyone to feel like they had a say in the name.

If necessary, we can create a new guild with a different name and migrate there. Otherwise, I would really like to begin rounding up our family so we can finally have a place of our own (:

If it’s so undecided we can extend the poll or pick out the top 5 names to narrow it down further. Make “Lich Slap” first and test reactions maybe, guilding is so ez in GW2 we don’t have to treat it like a grave, final decision that decides the fate of Azeroth Tyria.

Having 1 more vote on the leading option doesn’t make it significant unless you’re calculating with abnormally wide confidence intervals to make it fit or something (like those evil science research papers). I don’t think there’s a rush to make the guild, it’s not existed for 5 years it can wait a little longer.

Edit: You’re pretty brave for putting the idea out there though, and honestly it doesn’t hurt to give the chosen name a try. Just throwing out irresponsible suggestions like a well-trained backseat driver.

Worst case scenario I’ll go ahead and throw “Necromancer Guild” together and we’ll move over, but I need to create a guild space for whichever one we choose to run with.

Thank you for getting a new poll. After this I say we form up, under whatever name, and get some Necromancers together before the new patch. The world knows not what the Scourge brings!

I’ll run the poll for another 3 or 4 hours, then I’ll make the proper guild to accompany it.

Alright, Necromancer Guild won by a pretty sizeable margin in this poll, but as one could have probably guessed it has already been taken as a guild name. Any quick ideas for shorthanded replacements would be appreciated.
