I loved to play Necromancer in RIFT, AoC, EQ1,EQ2,DaoC, Vanguard etc etc etc……. but in Guildwars 2 its something else, its not better , no its worse than all other games ever offered as necro Class.

I love to have Pets and the main reason i dont play this strange Necroclass in GW 2 is because the pets just loose HP but dont regen any HP back after combat. Thats most disturbing for me because i have never played a necromancer were pets just loose HP and die.

In addition i dislike this strange cooldown that activates after a pet died, i want to recast my pets after they died and not 20-30 seconds later. This just slows me down and ruins smooth gameplay..

I know the Pets/minions can be healed but thats not enough for me to become interested in this class. Its just to strange.

These Minions and Pets should all have HP regen like the Ranger Pets have and i mean all the smallest up to the biggest should heal.

One Necro pet has this regen thats why i see many necros just with this one big pet but isnt it a waste ?

The whole necro class in GW2 should be deleted and redesigned the way other games show it. GW2 has stolen so many features of other games why not simply copy/paste the necro class from successful mmorpgs with some special features ?

The best Necros in GW2 are those without Minions/pets and thats not a Necromancer

The Necro in GW2 is no necro its something like a Warlock………..

RENEAME this class to Warlock and create a real Necromancer class

I actually want to recreate minions before they die. I did this in GW1 all the time.
When you are about to go into a fight, then create your minions and that way they are at full health to start the fight. No nasty cool downs during the fight.

And I agree, no cool downs when a minion dies. Start the cool down when the minion is created not when it dies. Don’t penalize me during a fight to create a new minion if it’s been a while since I created it.

If I have a blood fiend – first minion I guess. Then I can trash him and refresh him at will. But a Bone fiend is not that way. the skill when it’s alive is Immobilize not Refresh or Resummon. So I’m hanging out with a bone fiend with almost no health. What good is that. One hit. And like you mention, he doesn’t heal, which I guess I can understand. But remember those GW1 days when the healers actually kept the minions alive and healed them up? No way to heal this one, and no way to trash it and make a new one to enter the next fight. Bla…

Well, for a brief comparison, mesmer pets dies after the target dies.

Between casting your pet before every enemies and casting them only once they die, it is pretty obvious that you have the large end of the stick.

Plus, the flesh golem does regenerate health while out of combat.

Compared to the engineer’s turret and the immobile ranger’s spirit, you are still ahead.

Classically, necromancer is a minion/death-based profession and the necromancer choice in most other games generally lets you summon or create lots of minions as a viable build.

Part of the problem with the GW2 version is that (aside from the atrocious minion AI) our minions all have a secondary skill, so we can’t just resummon them when they are low on HP. The only way around this i can think of is to allow our minions to work like a mesmers’ mantras- cast them first (skill goes on cooldown at this point) use the active skill on a separate bar and have a 3rd option to kill the current minion and resummon from the utility bar once the cooldown is up.

Personally, i have moved to just using flesh golem for the cripple and knockdown and bone minions for the blast finisher. Underwater i use a shadow fiend (our utility choices are restricted) and bone fiend (no access to fields).

I agree that I’d love it if all of our minions regenerated health outside of combat. It’s very annoying to have to go into fights with half of our army near death, knowing they’d just get popped before they even close the distance to fight.

It doesn’t bother me too much, really. Think about a Well Necro. All their utilities have like 5-10 sec. durations and 40+ sec. cooldowns. Our minions (the best ones, anyway…barring Flesh Golem) are all meant to die. If there was a background cooldown for them so they could be instantly recast after they die, it would essentially mean the MM has next to no cooldown period. And as it stands, minion cooldowns are pretty short (if you don’t take the Minion Master trait and you run all minions, that’s your fault).

As far as I’m concerned, the only things that need any serious attention with minions are their AI and susceptibility to AoE. That isn’t to say I’d argue against out of combat regen, but my point is that the cooldowns are fine as is.

i believe i read somewhere that they acknowledged that they are working on giving minions normal regen like the flesh golem…

just work around it for now. use staff/2 and invest in Death/Blood

Yeah , I’m a pure MM as I chose necro class just for minions.
I really hope that our undead army will get auto regeneration as the Flesh golem does.

All 80es > MM necro is my best ,cleric
guard ,nades eng ,Trap thief \ranger ,signet\shout warrior, zerk mes\ele & shiro rev.
