Any ability that can be interrupted by CC...
Does anyone else feeling dodging is way more detrimental to our ability to cast abilities than most other classes?
Oh definitely. Using dagger MH I find I have to sit and soak up damage just so I can fire off my hits. The auto attack does decent damage but the real hard hitter is the last of the combo chain which doesn’t go off if you dodge and interrupt it.
I find dark pact misses most often for me simply because when I want them to be immobilized I need it to happen right away, and I end up interrupting it, they dodge it, or CC me. I’m going crazy having all these cast times on ALL of our abilities – 3/4 of a second doesn’t seem like much, especially compared to other mmo’s but in this game it is a lifetime, especially when ALL of your skills have cast times of 3/4s or more cast time
So basically the trait becomes:
gain 400 armor while able to use abilities
Every single non-instant ability can be interrupted, and there are very few. There are very few instances of aftercast delay (notably corrupt boon which is instant with an aftercast delay) few times you won’t be casting something when you can.
it actually works on life transfer in deathshroud too.. but yea.. even then its hardly worth it altho 400 toughness sounds nice on paper the reality is that for a glass cannon that mostly uses axe that 400 toughness while he channels isnt gonna make that much of a difference in ds you get knocked around like a ragdoll if you dont have the 30 soul reaping trait.. so might be nice for that.. an extra layer of cloth for your ratty crowd control me coat.
it could be half usefull for a support necromancer but it has to compete with greater marks and staff skill % cooldown.. so its basicly useless for everyone like a lot of our traits..
Nah, the 400 toughness trait is fine, it works on 3 skills guys.
That’s 50% more than the chill on blind trait.
400 Toughness is really good, it’s just, the uptime you’ll have on it is pathetic.
Using it with Life Transfer to tank dmg is kinda neat, but if I’m ever putting points into the Death Tree they’re pretty much being put into staff traits hands down.
Making it affect casts would be pretty good as that sort of encourages the playstyle that was explained for us. Making us tankier when we’re attacking/confronting but not when we’re running essentially.
