Just wondered if anyone else gets annoyed at the flesh golem despawning every time you go in the water (not to fight, just swimming across the surface to get to the other side). I know it’s not the end of the world, but still, always feels like something that shouldn’t happen…(or am I doing something wrong?)
I agree, it is weird especially when other pets can swim. Maybe Anet should design a flesh shark like the risen shark instead?

It just doesn’t have swimming animations. That’s really all they need to do to fix this.
I see no real reason why Flesh Golem couldn’t swim. It really is annoying when you have to constantly resummon it, even after a quick (often accidental) dip. Once the dumb thing went into the water by itself as I was near the waterline and it died… Full 60s wait until you get back to the “normal set” (without trait). I try to avoid water as much as possible just because it annoys the beep out of me.
Not just for flesh golem, but flesh wurm could use an aquatic version as well. Flesh Golem into Risen Quaggan. Flesh Wurm into a stationary Risen Seaturtle. or something

They don’t need to transform into anything. Its not that they magically explode and the game opens a magical vortex that will destroy the world if flesh golem is left underwater, he just doesn’t have any swimming animations.
Both of them used to be allowed underwater, but it was honestly pretty stupid looking, and I imagine they just didn’t have the resources to make swimming animations.

Maybe Im just going off Box of Nails ->Box of Pirahna, And MoaMorph-> TunaMorph.
But i see what you mean, if they are already summoned theyd have to transform. I suppose I was thinking of it more from a necrotic traversal point of view and less of a golem point of view. Which is kinda dumb as the thread is about golem. ^^
I absolutely hate this. Maybe make it so it can’t charge underwater or something, but that thing needs to be able to swim.
Just let it throw rocks from the shore or something, kittening aquaphobic golem
