Are there any AOE heavy WvW builds ?
Thanks. Though there are some bits I’m not clear on:
– Underwater gear. What should I use ?
Unless WvW doesn’t go underwater any more.
– What should the staffs second sigil be ?
I’m guessing sigil of accuracy so I’ve got the same sigils on both weapon sets.
– What infusions for weapons and armor ?
I’m guessing power infusions for weapons. For armor, I’ve got to choose between WvW defensive infusions or omni infusions with agony resistance, which is a useless stat for this character.
– Offensive/defensive infusions on rings/earrings.
Earrings and rings are unique. Meaning one will have an offensive infusion slot, the other has a defensive slot. For the defensive slot, I’ve got to choose between a defensive WvW infusion or an omni infusion.
Underwater fight would be like 0.1% of your whole wvw experience
Hmm i’d take a sigil of fire for even more aoe dmg with the staff
Infusions on gear i’d take resilient WvW infusion, and on weaps Precise WvW infusions
infusions on trinkets that fit the build are already on the original link…keep in mind these infusions cost a lot…

The listed infusions are agony resist infusions, not WvW infusions. Agony resist is useless for this character as it’s not going into fractals.
Lets look at my rings:
One will be Adelbern’s Royal Signet Ring, which has an offensive slot. So I’ll just stick the Mighty WvW Infusion in it, since it has power like the one listed.
But the other ring will be Rurik’s Royal Signet Ring with a defensive slot. So my choices are to take the useless stat of agony resistance on an expensive omni infusion, or to take a Healing, Resilient or Vital WvW infusion.
Same thing for my earrings. Are the expensive omni infusions, with a useless stat, really worth it ?
Or should I go with one of the defensive WvW infusions ?
Probably resilient
This is a Wellspike build. Usually much stronger then these selfish Blood/Deathmagic Tankybuilds with Zero dmg output.
right, on the rings/earrings you could use in the offensive slot a mighty wvw infusion (for power) and on the defensive a resilient, toughness.

Why have soldiers weapons and armor with beserkers trinkets ?
Have you actually ran the build you listed ?
Because, the exotic cavalier ring seems out of place and I didn’t think it was possible to have two beserker earrings with the same WvW infusion in them. One would have to have a defensive infusion slot.
0/15/0/25/30
Foot in the grave and the rest well traits, Ascended crit toughness trinklets, rune of the scholar.
hf.
E.A.D.
You can run a more standard 6/2/0/0/6. Anything from soldier’s to zerker gear works, but you’ll likely want more soldiers the bigger the group you plan to role with and fight against.
What are the pros and cons of the various builds suggested ?

U can run Cavaliers too, but Power is a strong Mainstat. Probably u should switch the runes, wurm were better pre patch (without additional vitality).
I run cavaliers, but the min/maxed Pvt/Zerk builds is saw, looked a bit better (prepatch!).
Jewels instead of runes. Interesting. I think I’ll run this build once I can afford to equip it.
When I start upgrading from exotic to ascended gear, should I go for an offensive or defensive slot on the backpiece and amulet ?
Which infusions should I get ?
I’m thinking precise for offensive slots, resilient for defensive.
Crests have uses, too. Now that Krait is no longer an UW rune, pick what you like.
For AoE, nothing beats traiting wells and marks. You can tag a lot and help define the battle line in WvW but do not expect to survive 1 vs 1 encounters.
I run this solo roaming and in small groups, works wonders if you are good at playing glass.
