I think going beserkers for dagger/dagger ~ staff would probably be best. However I would never ever recommend a necro go dagger at all in world versus. At best I think you will find your ego boosted by the single kills you will get from roamers. At worst you will feel slightly useless in the main attacking force ( being short range).
Either way, try out beserkers and good luck!
Is there a good website that post images of the exotic sets? One that is actually current?
Me and my guild run smaller gangs for supply and sentry hit and runs, we constantly do these and don’t follow the zerg much (though we do help with better sieges and do supply and siege weapon runs for them).
For these the dual dagger is working best, conditions isn’t as viable as i had hoped (and tested through levels 30 to 70).
I was thinking beserkers for pure dps, but i am always drawn to the knights set for toughness.

Physical damage (Dagger MH / Axe MH / Focus / Warhorn / Staff):
Beserker’s or Knights armour.
Condition Damage (Sceptre MH / Dagger OH / Focus / Warhorn / Staff):
Carrion or Rabid armour.
Hybrid Damage (Everything):
Rampager’s or Carrion armour.
Physical Damage + Healing:
Valkyries or Clerics armour.
Condition Damage + Healing:
Shaman’s armour.
Defensive + Physical:
Soldier’s armour.
Odd one (two) out:
Celestial… Because why do that. :/
Magic find… Because you can take the above but swap in magic find.

What about Mortal?
I have no idea what Mortal is, it isn’t one of the “stat groups”.
What stats does it have on it and I’ll classify it, although that list is just an introduction there are obviously crazy builds (usually not very good ones) that differ from that.
mortal would be defensive focused pretty balanced set. it gives quite nicely toughness and power

This might be what he means with mortal; it’s just combination of soldier’s and rabid pieces imo.
So thinking about it (and now being 80 in exalted valkyrie gear) i’m inclined to think necro crits are pretty underwhelming.
Such low crit potential makes me think anything precision/crit related is a waste.
As such power, tough, vitality is how i will go OR power,vitality, healing once i figure the benefits of healing on my build.
