Armored Shroud and Soul Compression
The post didn’t specify, so I don’t know. The Ready Up might explain more.
“He’s like a man with a fork in a world of soup.”
They both seem really boring.
I don’t understand Soul Compression at all. It is like GW1 Soul Reaping before a nerf put it on a timer: either you are in a place with a lot of stuff dies and you don’t need it, or you are in a place where hardly anything dies and you don’t need it.
Too bad that the New Grandmaster trait isn’t the new 15 point minor trait: it is about equal in power to the other 15 point minor traits.
Both useless. Extra toughness will be like 200-300 maximum. Which is pointless. A conditional buff is bad. The other one is obviously horrendus for pvp.
I bet those are the new minor traits in death magic. In which case the extra toughness is useful and the other one will be even worse than jagged horror trait for pvp

[Team] Best WvW guild of all time. EASILY.
I think it’s actually Soul Comprehension – and my understand of the reading is that it increases the base amount of LF you get from deaths. Basically additional sustain of LF, which when coupled with hp healing and the increased toughness from the other new trait mentioned, means more sustain from multiple sources.
It looks like individually the traits could be underwhelming, but together they could add up to much more tankiness. Also, choices – all three together may give you great sustain, but you could drop one of them and take more damage oriented traits in it’s place.

You’re right, would much rather have jagged horrors and toughness with minions. Boo to anything that improves all necro specs.
/sarcasm
I didn’t say bad, I said boring.
Obviously extra toughness is something we all like. Soul Compression does look bad (unless they nerf base on-kill DS generation which none of us want them to do)

Not every trait can, or even should in my opinion, ball outrageous.

You expected a 5 and 15 point minor trait to be exciting and build defining?
We complained about those traits for a year and a half. If they are finally changed we should all be ecstatic.
Edit: assuming they are the minors, of course.

If soul comprehension buffs lf gain by 50% then that would be pretty good for a minor imo. Extra toughness in ds is good. Man so many complainers.
As DM minors I would take it without a heartbeat since I already grab 25 Death magic anyways. (I do a 0/10/30/0/30 shroud build.) It’d be nice that I can take both staff skills in peace now and since my armor is low, it is much appreciated.
for there you have been and there you will long to return.
I will not say no to extra toughness in ds so i think this would be ok for a minor, but Soul Comprehension i dont know if i will like it. It seems useful in pve and wvw but in spvp it is situational at best and at worst useless. But i guess better that we have currently?
We say stability. They say more death shroud. We say escape mechanics. They say more toughness. We say blocks. They say more alternate healing functions. Can we all say dysfunctional relationship?
They seem like nice minors.
A bit of Toughness in Death Shroud never hurts. At a wild guess, it’ll be something like 80 toughness.
Soul Comprehension is better than what was there before, for non-MM, and Flesh of the Master was a staple trait for MM anyway so they get a free goodie. Necros gain life force when minions die, I’m fairly sure; both their own and other peoples’, so it’s not quite as bad as it might look at first glance.
They’re traits that let me look at the line without thinking “I’m going to be wasting my time if I don’t take minion traits/skills”.
We need a 15pt minor like:
-spectral armor from SR: more life force in a life force tree. great
-fury from Curses: crit chance in a precision tree. great
Vamiric from blood is great design, only it is horribly weak and useless. The spite one didnt make into this post as it not worth mentioning.
It seems its stil only useful for minion builds to get more % LF when they die, no added defense in actual pvp scenarios. And the other one is a stale probably small increase in toughness, so you will only be hit 5,4k instead of 6k by a pistol whip. No defense again, maybe next 6 months or better make it a year to three.

Maybe what you say isn’t always right. Maybe assuming they should listen to what you say is as dysfunctional as you saying they don’t listen to anything you say.

The DS toughness trait is the new Adept minor and the Soul Comprehension trait is the new Master minor, info from the Ready Up.
