Axe rending claws has been nerfed!
Its been buffed. The delay is less than it was before. Axe is a terrible weapon anyway.
Honestly, even if that weapon didn’t have auto attack at all, it would change nothing in it’s playstyle…Occasional Block/Blind remover. Yay.

Actual time is slower for the same damage and vuln.
Before today, the period was .95 seconds/cycle. That includes cast time and aftercast delay. Now it’s 1.2 seconds/cycle for the same exact effect. And you can’t animation cancel to artificially increase attack speed.
Pure nerf.

How do you keep getting the idea its a buff, I really am trying to wrap my head around it… 1 sec + smaller delay seems pretty obviously worse than .95 as the old total. o.O

Theres no documented changes in this patch. So i was going by the last documented change to axe. Which was an aftercast reduction. Which was a buff.

I have a FEELING since the animation changed today, and the tooltip, that it’s not a bug and has something to do with their testing and plans for the axe trait (pacing). Don’t quote me, but thats the idea I get.
There is a definite change though, and for the worst.

Yeah i just logged in and checked it out. I believe its an indication that they might be reworking axe ready for the spec changes. That said its clearly a bug that the unfinished animation has been implemented with this patch. :P
It doesnt actually seem to hit slower from what i can tell. Its just the animation and tooltip that changed.

Possibly immature, however frustrations on Necro have built up. Bhawb has threatened to quit (I love bhawb btw) if HoT doesn’t work out and no one jumps on him… A real nerf happened and people started posting very old information immediately.

The animation changed, the tooltip was updated, etc. Seems like a rather elaborate bug. And I’m not saying it’s that big of a deal considering Axe does suck anyways, but it doesn’t change the fact that people jumped on someone without the slightest clue of what they were talking about and made them feel bad for posting. Like I said, there is clearly a bias on who’s allowed to threaten to quit and who’s not.
Also, Staff 4’s transfer was a bug. We all saw how that worked out.

Yeah well they have managed to break dungeon waypoints and dungeon terrain without even touching dungeons before. So dont be so surprised with elaborate bugs.
Probably nerfed it, I was able to manually hit 25 vuln stacks with it. By canceling. Yes it’s very very hard. Yes I think it would be next to impossible to do ALL the time on the middle of a fight. Yes a macro could be made to do it. No I’m not making a video to prove it.

That’s just it. I don’t think this is a bug. I think it’s a cancel-fix much like Elementalists got with Lightning Whip, except it netted in a nerf on the base function.

I enjoy the axe and the animations are the best axe animations in the game. But this…is just clunky and feels wrong. Hoping it is a bug.
The slowdown is pretty harsh, since Axe wasn’t exactly breaking the meta before hand. Hopefully they’ll cut down on its wind-up, somehow? Or buff it’s damage per swing. (If they did change the damage values, I can’t tell.)
But from a visual perspective, I don’t mind the new animation. Better economy of motion.
It’s pretty obvious, and nobody’s impressed.
I can kinda take blame for this one, it was most likely BoC that caused it, as Blackmoa has been quite vocal about the (truly) massive increase in DPS (100% increase) that proper animation canceling could cause on the old axe AA.

Well maybe it was necessary. I was able to do it manually but I couldn’t do it very well in the middle of a fight, but anyone could have made a macro to do it. I thought lightning whip was ok because you didn’t need a macro for it at all, with axe the only way to do it effectively in a fight would be a macro. I would have a hard time believing anyone could “really” do it manually as I tried for a long time and got pretty good at it but still not as good as I could just sMackin a golem with it.
I’m not able to play right now can anyone tell me if they nerfed mesmer gs autoattack stow as well or just us?
