Best decision I ever made for my necro
Great, go now, run around and play.
I made an 80 guardian. My ranger and engineer are high 70s…
They all put my necro to shame.
Playing the engineer “as intended” is simply not viable.
Yep. Instead of posting about how much necros suck, I just dumped it altogether.
Now I use it to farm shelt/penitent path, at least it’s good at tagging.
This thread is super constructive…
How about do the community a favour and keep your pathetic whining to one thread yeh?
There’s literally 10 identical posts on the first page
Ta
Better yet I will take a page out of Sheobix’s book
Please post future inane whine posts here

less worthless necros the better, less peoples to give us bad name
tu’che Sausageninja
I could’nt agree more, no point blaming the proffesion for your inabilities
same thing all over like in aion with sm “worthless class” became op after peoples figured how to play with it,u guys who think necros sux,ur not forced to play 1,my dps is around warrior dps, heal as a guardian and tank as..well as a necro should
Well well yet ANOTHER person that needs to l2p. Yes Necros have bugs (but so does every other class). Necro will never be the outright DPS snore class the Warrior and Guardian are.
Their damage comes from knowing your cooldowns and abilities and knowing when to use them. People like you would have this class so dumbed down that a Warriors baby could play it.
You are just a little pissed off because Necro’s actually have to work at somethings unlike Warriors who can faceroll themselves to victory (and where is the fun in that?)
Learn to play, learn to play. I clocked in 500 hours on my necro. My main, my love.
Ran all of the dungeons with it, did the entire story, explored 85% of the world…
I’ve tried… of course I have… I mean sure you can have some nice skills to put on some damage, but nothing compares to the DPS of the heavy classes.
What does a necro bring to a dungeon party that another class doesn’t?
then uve learned nothing in those 500 hours….
the only thing id agree about necros,is our lack of combo finishers and bugged traits, like all other classes have.
we provide everything like all classes can provide everything
Can necros provide team buff? Maybe some regen to team mates because of vampiric traits, but that’s very low.
Apart from plague signet, which isn’t working at peak efficiency, any condition removal?
Speaking of damage, how can your necro’s DPS compare to warrior? Provide trait config, armor setting, weapon set and skill set.
Sure, my necro has 1800 condition damage, I can pop bleeds that will bleed for 10000 damage… over a minute. One “thousand sword” from a warrior does over 10k damage.
Yeah necros are cute and all, but they don’t bring anything to the table that other classes don’t do better.
Disclaimer: I am speaking purely on a PvE standpoint, as I’ve never PvP or know anything about it.
Nice, your thread is very clever.
Doesn’t sound like you know the class very well. I’m coming off aggressive because this topic was made (based on your OP) to kitten on necros.

I heal 9 ticks of 250-300 healing over 3.5 seconds to a huge AoE with my 10 point Transfusion trait to Life Transfer. Fairly significant team heal and you could get more heals if you wanted. And that’s just defensive team buffs, I’m not even gonna get into condition coverage necros provide.

Well of Power, Light Combo Field from Well of Blood, Gathering Plague underwater.

Don’t have a warrior, but huge stacks of vulnerability spread across the whole group with Well of Suffering, Spectral Wall or Epidemic I’m sure helps yours.

My Necro isn’t so condition focused, we’re not the best bleeders. I have about 750 condition damage.

Individually, specced for it, sure. But Necro is 5 of those individually specced guys rolled into one, albeit less effective at those singularly focused roles. I think Necros offer exceptional support in PvE especially.
(edited by Mega Skeleton.8259)
perma regen, protection, aoe blind, aoe weakness aoe poison, burst heal for lets say, around 7k hp over 10sec or 3k hp over 3.5sec
well of power, putrid mark 4th ds skill underwater
go full berserk dagger main hand with food, belive me ull outdps warriors
thats the point,u dont compare con dmg to raw dmg
At first I fell for the negative talk and after trying several builds and gathering different sets, I went and rolled a warrior. Now the warrior class can provide more group buffs on demand, however is wouldn’t discount necro DPS or group utility. I went back to playing my necro as my main. If I go glass cannon power build I have more survivability and I can do significant DMG. I’m specced for long duration might/stacking through weapon swaps and life blast. I pop power blood before I go into deathshroud gain fury and crit life blast 4-5k back to back…OK so my warrior spams and waits for hundred blades. In the meantime my 3 blasts did equal damage and if played smartly and positioned well I can hit 3 or 4 targets at once due to piercing. I’m at range and safe. My dagger #1 does anywhere from 5-6k DMG if they all crit and pop useful wells while I’m in melee.
All in all warrior can do things a little easier, I feel necro takes more skill and understanding to play. And I enjoy all specs it has to offer. Every profession forum seems to have people kittening about something some concerns are legitimate while others are just following the crowd. I’m having fun with my necro and he’s a beast ….however I wold like more ways to group buff I.e fury,might,etc..
Ok guys, you convinced me.
I agree, I played 500 hours of just dragging minions around, letting them do all the work. It worked in generic PvE, but it’s not a good build for anything worthwhile.
You’re right, I suck at necro’ing.
I’ll read this thread and work more at being good. Thanks for the nice words.
just go on ur necro, figure out what u want and choose traits accordingly,i never used minion build cuz the ai is kittenhit, and last advice, necros really excels in hybrid builds(aka dont focus on 1 thing)
Yes sadly minion builds suck kitten I rolled a ranger and was like WTF why can’t minions work like this…. but rangers have plenty of other issues from what I’ve read on their forums…I thought I was on necro forums either way I love my necro and every class takes experimentation and you’ll eventually find the build that best suits you. Right now I’m working on building my juggermancer set. Fun times ahead!
Yeah it’s actually pretty commonly accepted that Necro minions are generally broken and unviable as a build focus. People tend to have more success ignoring the minion aspect of the class. Flesh Golem isn’t too bad but only because the other 2 elites are transforms so if transforming isn’t your style, it’s the best option. (his damage is decent, when he decides to hit something)
Don’t play the victim here. Hope you can learn a few things about Necro’ing. Seriously.
If you just want to run around gibbing awful players in 8v8 hotjoin even if you are awful too it’s true the warrior is a better choice than the necro.
Was that supposed to be some kind of logical argument or are you actually implying that warriors aren’t a better choice outside of 8v8 hotjoin?
For tPVP necros are probably better, yes. For PVE they are both fine.
The only area warriors are clearly superior to necros is at gibbing awful players with very little effort.
Sorry, to reiterate, my entire standpoint is base SOLELY on PvE, as I do NOT PvP, or WvW, so I have no idea how this class workss there…
And my comparison to the warrior is also based only on PvE experience, and not PvP.
Warriors are a much easier class to play effectively in PVE, just like in PVP. They arn’t all that much better, though. Just takes less effort. I ahve both. On a warrior you can watch TV and play without really paying attention and charge into groups of 4-5 mobs and just GS them down in like 5 seconds. On a necro you can kill groups of 4-5 mobs easily too but you have to sorta actually pay attention.
I rolled a necro at release, but at lvl 30 i decided to try Guardian. Leveld her to 80 and like 10 min after i dinged 80 i found out that i miss my necro.
So the best thing i did was playing necro again.
Reason i decided to try guardian is that i always like melee, but who am i kidding? Melee in a PvP focused MMO is always a bad ide (i focus on pvp).
If you dont like necro, fine. You tryed warrior and like it so all is good.
Draci – 80 Guardian ( on hold)

i made a warrior too! best decision ever!!!!
