Minion master hand down due to the insane number of availlable control ability the spec possess not to mention its damage wich is good enought to take down players and lay tanks to ruins. Sadly either your good at it either you suck at it. Condimancer is the most popular because most people dont like AI and think condi stacking is epic wich is somewhat true because its easyer to play a good condimancer then a good MM but MM is one notch above it when it comes to survivability and damage combination.

Again its all about your purpose, if you want to make a sustain character with maximum control you should go minion master, if what you aim for is a condition glass cannon then run condimancer, funnily enought its 100% possible to run conditions as a minion master as well. Ill just remind that the main mechanics wich makes condimancer interesting in the first place aka Epidemic is totaly useless in a 5 v 5 match because of the simple fact you will close to never end up doing a fight against more then 1 or 2 target at best.

Im not denying that MMs are strong, but they don’t have any more control abilities than other necro builds.
They are simply not the strongest in a necro vs necro fight, which is a deal breaker for me.

Condition builds aren’t glass canons. They always have either a lot of toughness or vitality, or both.

Mehh, depends on how you play it, as a MM I’m close point defender in tourneys so I rarely get involved into fights bigger then 1v2, I can survive damage and keep my spot
Condi’s are fast removed these days.

My necromancer got upgraded to a scythe-wielding maniac.. I like it.

Ill just remind that the main mechanics wich makes condimancer interesting in the first place aka Epidemic is totaly useless in a 5 v 5 match because of the simple fact you will close to never end up doing a fight against more then 1 or 2 target at best.

I would argue that corrupt boon is what makes condi better then mm.
Even if epidemic only hits 1 other person its still increasing your damage/cc by 200%.

Just because one is not condimancer does not mean he cant transfer the condition backs… ive killed a lot of condimancer just by mass transfering all my condition back to it with my staff. Add to this i got one knockdown and one more immobilize then he do (most condimancer take plague over flesh golem) i can prety much kill a Condimancer in a necro 1 v 1 fight, iIts all about who CC the other the most and who has the last word on the condition transfers. Even if you do your epidemic what do you think will happen if i condi transfer using my staff… youl end up with every condition you placed on my minion as well as mine

Thanks for the nostalgia flash, but what you’re describing is Putrid Mark as it used to work until June of last year. Since then it no longer cleanses allies and it just transfers 3 conditions per target.

Sorry, but this information simply is wrong.
MM is only good against inexperienced players.
Against experienced players, terrormancer is the best pvp build from my point of view.

And whilst I won’t deny that there are certainly good players out there that will vaporize me with the MM, I have never had troubles yet taking down a MM with my terrormancer in 1vs1. Powermancers are more difficult in that situation.

Frame of reference is approximately 300 spvp/tpvp matches with the necromancer over the last 2 months.

The second reason you may want to run minion master is because everyone is specialising to counter condition spamming and as such you will rarely encounter an inexperianced player who simply didnt even care or forgot to put in a single or even multiple condition cleanse. Most player are ill prepared against minion master as a rule for behing speced to fight against Terrormancer in the first place. Minion master isnt limited to killing inexperianced player thats just a huge prejudice resulting from the overflowing of the spec in spvp right now wich makes people think MM are bad mostly due to the fact that most of the player wich runs it are bad at it (and god knows ive seen a lot of bad minion master around its terrible but again when we see a bad condimancer we dont comment on the spec behing bad just because its played by a poor skilled player so i still asume its prejudice against AI based builds.)

The staff#4 skill no longer transfers conditions from alies to enemys. Even if they stand in circle. It is only 3 conditions removed from you and placed on a target, 3x condi per target hit. It does transfer blind

It used to be a full self cleanse + ally cleanse in circle + transfer to 1 random target hit. Then they had some coding problems during dhuumfire meta, where any necro nerf was welcome, and now were here. So you wont save your alies with this thing , burning condispam still wins -.-

Or if you want to try a real glass cannon that can actually survive pretty well, try the power necro build down in my signature. I can often take on two players at once and due to the insane Life Force generation, it is pretty good at survival.

I have even managed to escape bad situations by Spectral Walking away and if the enemy group follows me I just Recall and speed off the other direction. I have laughed my kitten off at how often players are left confused by that.

I would recommend a fearmancer build (30/20/0/0/20) if you want a build that can survive and also deal alot lf damage. Problem is that condi invulnerabilities completely counter condi necro, and good luck trying to peel off or fear away a zerker warrior on berserker stance

If you want a much higher risk, much higher reward build you should go zerker necro and drop thiefs en 2 shots. Very good for corpse dmg too. No one can rez on your wells unless skil rezed. Also, for even higher risk and even higher reward use daggers, not axe.(30/10/0/030)

MM necro is the simplest build. Low risk, low reward (whoever says otherwise either doesnt tpvp much or is dilusional, but hey why should you trust me?) You are bound to the close point, not being able to help in mod fights, and hardly going far point. This is not because you cant, but because 80% of the time the minions will stay in the periphery of the fight without attacking unless activated, wasting the utility. If you do decide to go mid for example you have to go throuh a path where you dont jump or anythi g because the minions wont follow, instead taking the long route…. and when they get there they wont even attack. So because of all this you will have to stay at close point hoping they only send one, since if they zerg you your minions wont last long, and trust me no team wants a close point holder that will stay at close the whole game. The build is (20/0/30/20/0)

@MM – If used correctly, Epidemic is a death sentence for MM necro or Spirit Ranger. You don’t epidemic from the player, you epidemic from one of the targets hit by your condi AoEs to double the pressure and leave from the range of transfers. If MM doesn’t have CC (and some run Bfiend in which case minion transfer won’t save you at all) he ends up dead, most of the time.

As for “Best Necro Builds” – Wait two-three weeks to Feature patch. Then we’ll speak about best builds and theorycraft. It doesn’t have much sense now.

right now we talking necro versus necro but what about necro versus other target? Just because condimancer can kill MM doesnt mean MM cant do better then condimancer in other situation (aka killing a warrior)

fear will be interupt skill. as i recall. so no nerf for fear. but yes dhuumfire will be moved to DS 1. which will be “nerf” for almost all condition build.

It is all in how the class is played. I faced an Elementalist just today on my power Necromancer, and it was a great fight. I had great survival through proper management of Life Force and Death Shroud, he had great survival as well. We both hit like trucks, we both consistantly dropped low on life and recovered. This fight was a complete stalemate as both of us were just waiting on the other to make a mistake.

Point is, Ele is just as effective as Necro when both professions are played to their potential.

Yeah d/d ele is the most even fight there is for a power necro imo. Its fun but after a while it gets kinda old seeing the hp bar go back up again.

Indeed, good Elementalists outside of Tpvp pose a nice challange to Power Necro.
Scepter/Focus is very good tool for elementalist in here – Blinds, interrupts, projectile reflection, Obsidian Armor with very quick regeneration on energy are powerful.

D/D is also fairly strong, but I’d say good S/F can be more threatening.

But since OP speaks about sPvP viewpoint I can only tell that I tend to ignore elementalists on my Power Nec. I just avoid their burst with dodge and they quickly melt in my AoE burst. Getting hit by my immobilize and daze is usually gg.

ele’s on 1v1 must be really good to win, usually its just avoid the burst, like Rym said and then (at least as power build) ’’execute’’ em on the spot, axe#2 and life blasts + chill of death…

I think I’ll actually try going Hybrid with something like 10/20/30/0/10 with Unholy Sanctuary once the patch goes live. Something like Axe+Focus/Scepter+Dagger could be pretty nice and output some good damage. Although I doubt it being any meta build.
But hey, when I drafted my power build I had been quite sure that it’ll never work in meta…

Though the stab in DS doesn’t get rid of fear or stuns/daze effects on the spot like WoP does. also DS isn’t a stun breaker which is why. they should make it so DS breaks stuns, and grants stab for 4s when you enter DS. wewt! or have access to utilities while in DS now that’s a good SR grand master.

P.S. use Lyssa runes with Flesh Golem and your set on a second cleanse + boons. Works quite well.

2. Don’t teach me how to play the Powermancer. I play it for a year now and tried everything up to date.
3. Your build has absolutely no pressure, it loses too much damage in DS. I’d wreck it blind.
4. Lyssa runes are getting nerfed in the next patch.
5. Signet of Spite is a terrible utility for Powermancer, apart from applying weakness and blind (which I already do with OH dagger).
6. You have no hard CC apart from Doom.

20/0/30/20/0, clerics, A/F D/WH, 2x leeching sigils, 4x vamp runes, 2x melandru runes, minion build, I very rarely lose 1v1s, and I’ve beaten players who are vastly better than me (and yes, that includes condi necros).

If you aren’t good with minions, don’t expect high level success. But a good MM is one of the single best 1v1/2v2/3v3 builds out there. Just don’t teamfight, and have a team strategy that allows you to not teamfight, and you’ll be fine.

Doesn’t matter about next patch still this patch it’s still useful, there is added CC it’s called Corrupt boon after applying Spinal Shivers. I wasn’t telling you how to play a powermancer so don’t insinuate that i thought you had no idea, and i know your a good player, It may lose dmg in 1v1 but has enough pressure outside of DS, my build uses DS as a stomper, during fights i’ve maybe been in DS in a group fight at least till my LF drained or i was hard focused. and i spoke of how it would be nice if in the next patch they added a stun breaker to the grand master for Foot in the grave, would be pretty insane but don’t think they would utilize it.
