Blast support?
No it doesnt. And i wouldnt bother with that trait. Its totally useless and almost impossible to hit allies with.
Argh. Very well, thanks.
To clarify, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the numbers on that trait. 345 + 45% of your healing power is not small. In full Exotic Zealot’s gear (Zerker backpiece with watchwork mechanism, since there is no Zealot’s, and healing power primary runes, but no trait investment other than 6 in Soul Reaping), that’s 731 healing per blast, 804 if you’re using Monk runes. This works out to 522.14 healing/second or 574.29 healing/second.
To show how nuts the trait actually can get, though, take this build.
To be clear, I do not recommend this build, merely using it to show what’s possible.
At the 1791 healing power, each blast heals for 1151 before accounting for the outgoing healing increase that ranges from 10-22.5% At max sigil stacks, each blast heals allies it passes through for 1410, or 1,007.14 healing/second. No other ability in the game comes close to that value for sustained heals and very few can match it even in burst heal ability, especially to allies.
Buuut, it’s extremely difficult to hit your allies with it for that incredibly strong healing potential.

Interesting.
404 on that build link btw. What’s the difficulty with hitting players? It travels in a straight line.. put player in between you and target = profit? Does it often go over peoples heads and not count or something?
Yeah, since many bosses are taller than players, your Life Blasts sail over your allies’ heads. In WvW, players are A, moving around a lot and B, usually have large elevation differences, it likewise doesn’t help.
I’ll see what I can do to fix that link. It’s the first time I’ve ever had that happen to me.
EDIT: Link’s fixed.

I was thinking something like this http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fRAQNArYWjk00ZbRNe3wfbirhSyBIAmsBSAqfhUIYB-ThxGABA8GAy9QAso6PMp8bo9HoTJIpAkWmF-e
Yea the height thing makes sense.

You have two Sigils of Water on one weapon set. All that does is increase the chance it procs, not how often or how strong.
Yea, I want lots of procs edit – unless they share a cooldown, merp.
Okay. It will proc often enough anyway, as changing the proc chance from 50% on-hit to 75% on-hit won’t really do a lot.
Of particular note, however, is the Transfusion trait. In my linked build, it hits 7,166 healing to 5 allies every 34 seconds. In yours, it hits 5613 every 40 seconds. Regardless, you’re giving your entire party a bonus Healing skill without them needing to take a break from doing anything else.
Is the difference due to being power focused?

Also a difference in sigil. The build I linked has an additional 12.5% outgoing healing at max sigil stacks, but also making use of the Spite 3 minor trait to convert some Power I’m getting anyway back into more Healing Power.
Ahaaa. Right on, thanks
In practice it is extremely difficult to use.
Ally, enemy, and yourself need to line up in a particular order and stand there letting you life blast both of them.
This is another case of “balancing” for 0.1% of the time.
If they made it an AoE with 240 radius, it might be better.
Here’s another take on a support build without Renewing Blast(too unreliable)

I prefer less direct healing for protection on demand with wells. One utility slot is free for signet of undeath/signet of locust to run around/spectral wall for more protection/CPC.

I do wonder how they tested this trait and in what encounter, it’s presence in Soul Reaping disturbs me but not as much as Unholy Sanctuary in Death Magic. The trait could have been the siphon share with allies we wanted/needed. By AoE I assume you mean an AoE heal blast on impact on foe??
The Dhuumfire thread
Transfusion, an adept trait, is 1000x better at healing allies than renewing blast.

That’s not a bad build. I’m wondering though if targeted wells are really the way to go though; for transfusion and various other things it seems like play will be forced to be up with everyone else / in the stack. You also took “reduce ds recharge time” is that for pulsing in and out to get that “heal when leaving ds” to go off lots? I like how interpretive necro support is, there’s no locked in / meta / thisishowitisjustdoit.
Yeah exactly, pop in/out of ds for that insta 1k aoe heal every 7 seconds is the best healing support we give imo
I guess you want to use such builds either for fun in pvp or in zerging wvw, so i think dropping protection in the middle of the zerg from a distance is better than running up close
