Q:

Just wanted to know if there is a reason bleeds are so low next to other conditions if it’s the main condition for necros (poison too ofc…)
i just had a look at this: Guild Wars Wiki
i did some thinking and i was wondering how much dmg can mesmer do with some condition dmg on him and by using skill 3 alone with scepter (5 stacks of confusion)
the number doesn’t look good next to 4 stacks of bleeding by using blood is power and plague signet for 4 stacks…

anyone (arenanet included..) can spread some positive thinking about this?

A:

It’s pretty hard to stack confusion to a decent amount and you do need to use a skill to get it’s damage out. I can typically maintain 15-20 stacks of bleed and at 1700 condition damage that’s a little over 1900 DPS on the low end. It’s incredibly rare for me to see over 5 stacks of confusion on anything and at 1700 condtion damage and an enemy using an attack once per second that’s… about 1k DPS from confusion(in sPvP). The damage is a little insane in WvW… not sure why they haven’t mirrored the spvp nerf over to that as well.

Confusion does not tic per second.

Its also significantly harder to stack up to the levels you can hit easily with bleeds.

if you use auto attack you will get all 5 stacks as DMG (130X5 flat witout condition buff)
with only 1 skill used on you…
that doesn’t look harder to stack and dmg is high
