Blood Magic - Life from Death
I don’t really think the res-giving is an important part of the trait. Its a ~2.5k heal with healing power that works well with Transfusion, the res was just tacked on because ANet decided that was something to throw onto a bunch of our traits.
And contrary to transfusion, this one actually heals yourself, which is great.
Perhaps I have been using it wrong by not having healing. It feels like just a trickle exiting shroud in zerker gear. My minions do not look very much happier when I use it on them.
How do you use LfD and how often?
You’re definitely not seeing it in top form unless you’re running healing power. It scales very well. Toss in Speed of Shadows and you can see a decent amount of self healing from flashing shroud.

I use it in my cleric MM build, it has some crazy (1.5) healing power scaling. Anytime someone tries to throw out AoE I can pop Shroud, use Transfusion to heal my minions, and then leave for another heal + protection. This heals them for 8.8k-10k, plus the 3s protection. The other use for LfD is simply seeing a situation where the heal + protection is in a good spot to mitigate some lighter AoE, especially if Shroud 4 is down. The above thought process works exactly the same for non-minion allies, sub protection.
Its also a good choice for when you’ve finished a res. Transfusion and/or normal res, then dropping shroud for the extra 2.5k-3k heal is really nice.
Thanks for the input. I am going to put together some new armor and have a cleric’s stet stored, somewhere, already. Something with the new expertise stat is also on the list but I need to figure out how much expertise i really have to have so i don’t end up too light on power and condition damage stats.
I really wish there was a 3-stat armor with expertise as one of them, instead of the 4-stat spread.
