Blood Magic Trait Idea
What would the ramifications/effects be of adding a grandmaster trait to blood magic:
Vampiric Aura: Every second drains health from nearby enemies: If 1 enemy, drain 100 hps, 100 hps
if 2: 80 hps from each one, 160 a second
if three: 70 hps from each one, 210 hps
if four: 60 hps from each one, 240 hps
if five: 50 hps from each one, 250 hps from each one.I made these numbers by subtracting how many enemies you are fighting from 100, with 1 for 100 being the base.
caps at five.
This would encourage getting the fray, for risk vs. reward, while giving some ability to stay in that clash.
Also to me feels very necromancy, sucking their soul out by being near them.
range of 600.
While the numbers are a little high, I wouldn’t so much mind that. In fact, I was kind of hoping the “on use” of the Leeching sigil would work kind of like this (though if it was on the healing signet the numbers would actually have to go up instead) with a burst heal component at the start. And have the passive be a leech on hit that was less potent. This would make much more sense considering Leeching is supposed to be a tanky in your face fighting style, not support. x.X

with your last sentence, are you saying it shouldn’t be in the support line blood magic? I feel it should be there with all of the siphoning traits. You would also have to go into the support tree then for a perk at 30, that is quite powerful.
mmhh i like the idea, it should take the place of the grandmaster siphon well trait. But its unlikely to happen with thes numbers i think the range is too big, maybe more like that deathmagic trait that stacks vul to near enemies in ds. But with that you will aggroing every mob in pve and wvw^^
It is good. The only thing is that they are turning Blood magic into support, which is only half of what it is. It is supposed to be half life stealing (which is always a selfish mechanic) and half support (like the old GW1 Blood is Power).

It is also already a mm trait tree more or less…
Edit: no Grandmaster trait in blood magic is support orientated
Making it only work while inc combat would be important Muchacho. that’s a good point. Hi Bhawb, I see you around here a lot! If they are working to make Blood Magic half support, then they cpuld make one GM trait a support one, and one grandmaster trait a siphon one.
Currently they could make minions take conditions from everyone, and the well trait for siphon, or change it to a new support, and my siphon.
One of the traits will always stay Fetid Consumption. Ideally for me, the other GM should be a trait that turns the rest of your selfish healing (vampirisms) into group healing. There have been a few ideas on how to do this.
I originally thought that the trait transfusion, the DS 4 skill heals others, applied to all siphons. very confusing wording on it.
the problem is: Small but rapid heals are not very useful if the boss 1-hit downs you. the necro needs support in a way other than life siphons. Even group life siphons.
maybe, when a minion dies, a downed ally is revived (30 sec icd) or with priority, a dead ally is resurrected (ICD 60)
- faster revives (i mean FAST, even in combat (bonus revive speed if you ress in DS, but this already requires a fix))
- negating / reducing ress sickness
- ressing with more hp
- HP linking so you use your own team mates as meatshields
- HP siphon from allies for more damage either via might or direct dmg
- party wide siphon +1 (guardians already are able to share F2)
Just throwing out ideas you know …
the HP linking could be abused and greatly disliked. I love the revive speed thing, we should also grant tons of might on revive imo.
the siphons are nice as well.

- these 3 are very stupid since they should be rune only… any warrior can tell you that its not a good thing to have traits that require near death… then again 2/3 in 1/5 of our minor traits are worse…
Linking hp would be abused, but it would be cool/a efficient way to carry noobies in fractals.
