Anyone still using any of the utilities that do it?
I found it to be useless to use heavy cd boonstrip utilities at all now..
So much boonspam and cleanse it doesn’t really matter much if you strip or not.
I also don’t use any boonstrip on weapons anymore, i kinda found out that condition damage is pretty useless in general unless you go all out cheese necro and situations where a boonstrip could be usefull are occuring less and less.
Necro is so antisocial that even considering an interrupt on a stomp is not wanted or simply not possible.
Anyone else feel that boonhate has been pushed out of the meta trough all these evades and its simply better to dps?
just wondering.

I still find it to be quite effective especially against Ele/Guards
4/6/0/0/4 traiting Chill of Death and Path of Corruption and slotting Corrupt Boon is extremely efficient – I even use an Axe with this build the #3 skill removes a boon
I like that build more than 0/6/4/0/4 – No need for passive defense or staff mastery since I hate the staff
I think if you only take Corrupt Boon or Path of Corruption it is not enough – I think Chill of Death might be the best boon removal trait/skill we have and when you take all three I definitely notice
Also – I run Axe/Warhorn Scepter/Dagger – Warhorn #4 is an unblockable interrupt for your downed teammates getting stomped
Step outside of the meta and find the build that works best for you
I pretty much only run a boonhate, corruption type build when I’m playing against a lot of engineers, since they are so very weak to conditions but otherwise can be a very strong class.
Otherwise it always feels like even when I wipe someone’s boons that they are back, and conditions are removed quickly. I know that isn’t necessarily true, but I don’t prefer the playstyle unless its working to my advantage.
It depends reallly…
When I play conditions, I of course, take PoC, but the boon corruption/removal is usually more focussed on withering the sustain of an enemy down more than anything… I am well aware that boons are spammed, that is why my Guardian is called “Boon the Spammer”, but I also know that for some classes, not elementalist, it is a drag to get them back yourself… And since I do not want/cannot participate in teamfights with my Necromancer, I am quite content with that…
On my Power Necromancer it is a different story, boon corruption can literally turn the tide of battle – corrupting Stability to Fear means an extra CC for you to land your blows, corrupting Might to Weakness means massive damage reduction, thus a better time for you to land more hits than the enemy in the same amout of time…
Again though, in team scenarios you are kinda screwed, especially if there are say two celestial classes such as Engi and Elementalist close together – the amount of party utility completely “nullfies” what you can do as a corruption Necromancer…
Regardless, with all those boonhappy mightstacking celestial classes out there, we really need to get the option to remove/corrupt boons hard…
Corrupt Boon and Path of Corruption keeps the warriors in check

Back to topic,
Leetos dd power necro, trade staff for axe+focus. Opening from range on a warior ranger with the 3x boon rip, stacking some lf and vuln, then back to normal d/d rotations. Thats the only case where i found the boonstrip helped me actualy win a fight. Axe is still axe and necro is still necro

I can easily handle most of the specs that spam boons
Granted the lack of real AOE does make some classes/specs like mesmers ^ full turret engineers a pain in the kitten .

This is about what i run.
I use:

All out damage at close range not depending on crits, procs or other scemes and has total control over the damage you do. (Except maybe Chill of Death at 50%)
It does involve loads of kiting and picking your targets, but basicly it can hold out untill someone comes by to pew either you or your opponent.
It’s cast WoS, get your opponent in there and keep him there.
quite fun, but quite hard
Boon flipping is quite literally the only thing that keeps condi necro in the meta right now, imo. If not for corrupt boon, there really isn’t a reason to run condi Necro.
Corrupt Boon probably the most powerful utility a necro has atm; it can instantly turn a fight around in your favor if properly used. Focus #5 is decent, but the cast time is too high and not many builds are suitable for a Focus. Then Well of Corruption; I barely use it cuz im not a fan of a well build and I value this utility way below spectral skills, WoP, and so on. Imo, for a condi build Corrupt Boon + traited Dark Path is plenty, and I would maybe even consider taking Corrupt Boon pretty much on every necro build. So nahh, boon flipping is still worth it.
I love corrupt boon on my condi necro but I am extremely hesitant on running path of corruption anymore, tbh my condi build I’ve actually swapped to lingering curses so I have no incentive to teleportation into the middle of teamfights. It’s an amazing 1v1 trait but I think you end up screwing yourself by feeling like you need to use it in a teamfight, I know alot of people are going to disagree with me but I have seen some top necros go for a dark path and then die…
Yep, PoC does not lend itself for anything bigger than 2v2’s… You will literally cripple yourself as you force yourself, mostly a range/kite class, to get in melee range where you just do not want to be, unless you can immediately create a gap via CC’s again…
The trait is because of this actually extremely well designed, high-risk, high-reward… Use it at the wrong time and you are dead…
What I was doing most of the time when using poc was popping sw or making sure I have a wurm in a good place using ds2 and then reverting the walk or burning the wurm.
Aye, it is how I play as well… S-Walk is mostly for me to get me out of the teamfights whenever I need to quickly get down and res/stomp or indeed PoC…
Though frankly – I feel less like playing my Condi Necro more and more… The more I play power, the more I am starting to feel as if it is superior – I might be completely off though, but my personal build just does not seem to peform well enough to stay within the current meta =/
You guys are nuts – PoC is GODLY
Yes you should not target the bunker sitting on the point in a 5v5 to ruin your positioning but it is the only reason we can take down Celestial sustain classes along with Corrupt Boon
Plus we should be running the Wurm to reposition if you did a kamikaze to mid
PS – The sound Dark Path makes is kitten awesome!
You shouldn’t be going to the 5v5 anyway.
I find poc less helpful against those celestial classes since they are just boon spamming classes anyway. Sure in a 1v1 or 2v2 situation it’s nice but anything after that it’s suicide and not worth the damage you might take from using it.
