Never let people’s opinion stop you from using what runes you want to use.
Especially if they cost you 10-12g a piece. You shouldn’t have to justify your purchases in a game unless it’s to your wife.

I see in your video that you switch between warhorn and dagger is this just changing it up occasionally or have you decided which one seems to be the best for you. I run a similar build except I have blood magic over spite I’m the same with perplexity runes. I am still not sure about warhorn though, I’m gonna look at your build and video a few times to analyze it. I hope you make another soon. Since the patch my necro has been my favorite class to play so far even more than my elementalist which I am just finding kind of boring atm.

I was just testing to be honest and I do sometimes switch between them from time to time but at this moment I prefer dagger over war horn.
off-hand Dagger: Gives you more flexibility in controlling conditions and also you can apply more bleed + weakness. Even if you’re blinded as long as your Deathly swarm hits your opponent or something you aim to hit then you will transfer condi to them
War horn: Allows you to daze your opponents which will proc perplex (if you are using it) and also prevent them from using some skills. You also have swiftness for mobility and along the way cripple to get away from opponents and also regain Life Force + if you are blinded you can get rid of blind so long as your swarms hit something.
It’s more of a preference of which one you’d rather have. For me i prefer to manipulate condi a bit more specially if you’re up against those that can immobilize you, give insane burn, confusion or torment damage but at times i do take up the war horn.
I’d say when playing condition you don’t need to specifically go to spite, death magic or blood magic. However this is my advice I guess… it’s just my opinion
If you are using blood magic and if you use off-hand/main hand dagger take quickening thirst due to the CD reduction and 25% mobility increase.

Vampiric Ritual if you’re using a well (Solo Roam choice). Unholy Martyr if your group does not have enough condi cleanse or transfusion to be able to pull your members away from being stomp and also giving them heals.
the alternative to that is if you’re using warhorn you’d rather take blood bond, banshee’s wail (Semi-permanent swiftness I think 2-4 sec delay of getting another swiftness + 3 sec daze or life from death (solo roaming choice). Grand Master choice is same as the one i mention in off/hand dagger choice.
When choosing spite it’s usually spiteful renewal (only good if you have a condi on you and if you can actually get some one below 25% health threshold 5sec ICD). This isn’t bad however usually by time they get to 25% health they tend to die so i kinda find this one like…ehh…
Chill of death if you’re playing condi for that additional damage to your opponent.
in GM trait for Spite choose spiteful spirit if you want to keep corrupt boon, spectral walk and well of power.
The reason why I say this is because when you choose Signet of suffering I believe it’s optimal to use two signet and not rely on the proc signet (plague sending). I’ve tested it by only using one signet and it’s not bad but i believe it’s optimal with two utility signet. ( Just to let you know my usual choice is Signet of Spite, Plague Signet and Well of power however if you want to go full on corruption utility then change well of power to corrupt boon) and also by choosing this you will be going for more burst condi damage as it does give you a decent amount of stacks and an example to this was the clip of me and the thief @0:28 secs.
