Burning stacks....

About burn it’s ok, right, guardian will be the king of burning stacks, but necro have also bleed and poison to deal damage. And weakness, chill, cripple to take down the enemy.
oh guards get bleeds too… and blind.. cripple… massive vulnerability…
to quote one of the devs “condi guards are a thing”
a never ending 3k aoe burn… (as long as people stay in 900 range of the guard) that’s better than anything my necro has ever done… it’s cooldown is short and it can be cast multiple times…. yeah… each time you cast it it stacks…
Their ‘traps’ are basically staff marks that trigger really, really good wells.
and their bow skills are really nice…. thief shortbow meets ranger longbow meets warrior rifle meets stability….
oh boy….

a guard’s 16 sec cooldown F1 skill for constant burning for 10 secs is a total death blow on necros.
we are the only class without enough mobility to get out of 900 range against a guard’s F1

And Necromancers are in a unique position to pass condi-spam right back to the Guardian. I wonder if condition transfer will transfer stacks of Burning.
You could at least wait to see what the Necro elite spec is.

As long as there are fodder (necromancers) to die around him, a guardian can pretty much spam F1 if correctly traited. What’s fun is that spaming F1 also blind the foe, apply vulnerability and grant might to the Guardian and it’s allies. Well but that is if you trait your guard for that.

Unless they drastically change condition transfers due to the lack of a cap, Burning is 99% likely to be transferred/removed just like any other condi/boon stack. As long as you don’t get cced or the enemy fails to evade your transfer, the more condis used against the NEcro greatly increases their condi DPS.
I would say 99.9% when you consider the Resistance boon.
Also if MM AI gets fixed, our minions sound like they will be very good condi transferers with the new Necromantic Corruption trait. IMO, the new description “suggests” that every minion AA will transfer a condi from themselves to enemies on every attack independent of the 10 CD draw condi mechanic. Here’s hoping that’s the case and not a badly worded first draft tooltip.
Although having 4-6 minons acting like a 100% chance generosity sigil every 10s wouldn’t be too shabby either. Especially against something like a guardian applying one type of damaging condition like burning. Three stacks of burning on 4-6 minions could easily become 12-16 stacks on the Guardian.
Edit: Reread the trait description and I would say its the latter, only because having minions transfer conditions (plural) on every attack would seem over the top.
“Minions deal 25% more damage and take conditions from you. Whenever a minion attacks it transfer conditions to its target (10s cooldown per minion). "

Remember that Traps do not have range and are telegraphed like Ranger traps in GW1, due to arming/activation times. They don’t have the advantage of being able to spam cast like bombs as well. Necro Wells will be baseline 900 Range with generally lower CDs and no activation time after cast. Marks can be casted on any target instantly from 0-1480 Range with very quick CDs.

I’m going to make a guess that, during the period where everyone is trying to find “lol die instantly” builds, Conditions are going to make a resurgence until people remember to bring condi clears.

I wouldn’t put too much stock in a guardian fighting a stationary boss. I can destroy the boss just as quickly on MM while taking no damage, and that’s before the trait changes, does that mean MM is OP? No.
Guardian’s spec will be strong, especially in PvE, but in PvP you will not see more than one trap in a build, they have really long CDs and are really easy to avoid (takes a full second to cast+activate in combat). Again, its good, but their Ready Up is literally a marketing ploy to get people excited, I wouldn’t take it at face value.

This ^.
Poison in addition to reducing healing done/received will also stack damage in intensity.
While it alone won’t do as much damage as burning per stack I would consider it better in PvP if you can readily apply it & other conditions with it.

No you couldn’t , cause your minions wouldn’t attack most of the time X) But if they would… nah, you would still take longer to kill eg. chieftain. Cause DH bursted and Minion-DMG is sustained. Anyway, I just seriously hope AI and pathing will be fixed until/with HoT. And some way to make minions survive AOE…maybe.
Posion in wvw, just always appears weak, as I see it get cleansed so often and the damage is simply not that huge to be worried about it?

Minions don’t immediately bug, in HotM testing they almost never do, and minions have pretty high burst using A/F and D/WH, you can easily kill the boss within one rotation of CC (charge, rigor mortis, dagger 3, WH5/4, DS5/4/3 is a total of 1.8s fear, 10.2s immobilize, 1s knockdown, 2s daze) which lasts 15 seconds, during which you deal quite a lot. Minions have pretty strong burst, you just normally won’t unload it all at once.

Hmm… well, if they fix minion AI (and their active skills, which are also bugged or made unneccesarily worse by skills not restting AA-timers etc.) I sure as hell will try and run an MM some time…Bone fiend transferring it’s selfroot would be just funny.
