Hey guys, sorry to say it but we’re going to be taking a break this week. Tenderly and I are both really busy, and unfortunately we just won’t be able to make it happen. However! Good news is that I am trying to line up some special guests for the next few weeks, so I hope to make it up to you all with some great podcasts.

Podcast will not be tonight. There will be one this week, but we are re-scheduling because of time (he’s EU). I will update when I have the time locked down.

It will be tomorrow at 12 noon PST, and we will be on with flow a WvW necro. After this we will be back to our normally scheduled time of 6pm PST every Thursday.

They tell stories of their own leveling experiences, cover the fastest ways to level, and drop a few leveling tips for those new to the necromancer. They also talk about the newest patch and where they feel the Necromancer is headed.

10/18/2013 – In this weeks episode Bhawb and Tenderly meet up with Rennoko and talk conditions. They go over chill and weakness, and how they are readily available to Necromancers, and also often overlooked, how immobilize is becoming a new terror in PvP and WvW. They also talk about some balance issues and design choices with conditions, and how they might be fixed or could have been implemented differently.

11/3/13 In Part 2 of Trait Discussions, Bhawb and Tenderly talk about traits. They go over the feedback collected in a thread Bhawb started on the Necromancer forums, and add their own input and opinions on the traits and the game. There was so much feedback, that we could only get through half of the discussion, which will be finished next week. This part one includes general trait discussion, the trait trees in general, the Spite tree, and also what we’d love to see done with on-death traits.

I’m so glad the first thing you talked about is the staff and its cooldown bugs. Yes, I will still call them bugs, because despite what a dev might have said, in context of all other skills in the game the way our marks behave atm can simply not be intended. It’s an injustice, and frankly an insult to players to pretend that this was an intended change from the start.
Like you said, it’s like changing Hundred Blades to just hit twice and no longer cleave… but telling no one about it until 4 month later -.-

When the whole commotion about the next patch preview dies down, I’ll start a petition thread to get our regular interrupt cooldowns back.

I still find it insulting that they listed putrid mark as “best skill in the game” as a reason to leave it bugged…. smh

Tenderly and I came to the conclusion that Power (the person who said it) probably just made an awful mistake and didn’t actually voice the opinion of the development team as a whole. Power was a PvPer a while back that was a pretty terrible Necromancer. Think of this, they would walk into a team fight mid and this was their rotation:
Staff 2, 3, 4, 5, swap to scepter/dagger 2, 5, 1111111 (till staff CDs are up) swap to staff, repeat.

So we felt maybe this was a case of someone sticking their foot knee-deep into their mouth.

But Bhawb, wasn’t he using the combo of chillblains/putrid mark for the AOE weakness?

True, he probably even used Scepter 3 at the end for the increased direct damage.
