But why is the rune gone?
“Several PvP build components have been removed in order to promote healthy gameplay:
- Removed Minstrel Amulet. Anyone who has purchased this amulet will be refunded their gold.
- Removed Rune of the Ogre.
- Removed Rune of the Lich.
- Removed Rune of the Pirate."
Unfortunately I do not know why they removed those from the game. I did want to give you kudos on the title of the thread, though. I actually barked a laugh out loud reading it.
“He’s like a man with a fork in a world of soup.”
“Healthy gameplay”.
Okay.
Because runes that passively spawned completely passive and uninteractive pets was an extremely common complaint from PvPers, and didn’t promote any interesting gameplay. Unlike MM/Ranger who have a lot of interplay with their pets, these spawned mobs don’t interact with your build in any meaningful or active way, they just passive add damage that you don’t have control over.
Really no big loss.
Some people seem to think it’s because runes that summon on hit ruined DH traps.
