C'mon Devs, give us Necros some gear.
Lidless Eye and Eye of Rodgort, but yeah, no legendaries.
Kraitkin is very Necro, if you like underwater…
Legendaries are the only thing we are really lacking in. There are two staves with skulls, two scythes, The Crossing, a few fire/ice ones that fit, and there are similar situations in all of the weapons that we can use.
The only thing that we really lack is Legendaries that fit a dark theme, but they have already said they are working on that.
+1 to this tread. Nercos do need more gears that are suit for us
Oh man, I forgot Kraitkin. I want an aweseome snake-themed staff like that so bad Q.Q
Don’t spend nearly enough time underwater to focus on acquiring a legendary trident lol
On another note, does anyone wish the underwater weapons could be used on land? I would love to use wells for utilities and just abuse people with the spear XD
You’re complaining about the lack of Necromancer-themed gear, really?
Is Arah armor not enough? It’s as Necromancer as you can get since the whole
game freakin’ revolves around our Profession. Even kittenty Trahearne is a Necromancer
before he got his lame kitten sword.
In fact, a lot of Elementalists and Mesmers like to copy us and wear our gear.

Arah gear looks hideous on a charr
I also hate the way the weapons look.

Silly man, you never hide the face of a Charr.
Everything else should like fine. Use the right colors!
For weapon skins, I really enjoy the Kodan Weapons. The Ice Theme definitely meshes well with our plethora of Chill skills.

Oh of course. I never have the helmet graphic turned on unless its the HotW one or the charr cultural head pieces (they actually fit and look good). The Arah shoulders just look plain ugly though. They stick up all weird.

I use maw of the kitten as my axe. its perfect. legendaries are not worth the trouble anyway…
Guess I’m in the vast minority of people who think Howler looks neat on necro, as well in the minority of necros using warhorn altogether…
And then we have Kraitkin… but yeah.. underwater XD Could be the coolest staff ever though!
Other than that, we could use some more clothes options, I personally run a mix of Honor of the waves and Cultural T3 from humans. But most necros I see are all running the Arah set or Citadel.
I really feel some very necro based gear will add a big boost to our performance, because the armor out there now is just to generic to make a difference. If I had to place armor with condition damage and/or condition duration into the mystic forge to get a random piece of necro super condition built armor piece, I will drain the market of the exotic pieces and off to the forge I go. That might be the only answer the programer have to solve the lack luster performence of some classes. The necro is market as one of the top condition classes in GW2, then the designer need to find a away to match the necro concept. All the generic armor out there atm will not change your condition damage no more than any other class desiring a similar built, but we give up huge support skills for no added difference! (we have very limit support to start). Necros focus on being a condition master should be able to reach over 2500 easily. our first hit will feel like a wet noodle, but the lingering effects will be a killer. So what designer, seeing dots tick for 300-500 per sec or higher should be alarming to a target, but with all that condition removal out there, help will be just a button away.
Just my 2 cents
Snake in most cultures symbolizing rebirth… doesn’t exactly fit gw2 necro >_> It’s debatable topic at least. Anyway… there really is no necro gear past a few random chunks here and there . Too much carebear rainbow vomit.
We totally should have the Scepter of Orr.
The Order of Dii[Dii]-SBI→Kaineng→TC→JQ

I’m currently sporting the Avenger’s for my Necro. I’m liking the look, it makes me feel like an angel of death, Muhahahaahaa! Other Staff on my wish list that to me have a Necro feel are Orge warstaff, deathwish and final rest. The current legendary just doesn’t appeal to me at all :p
PvP R29 Necromancer
Level 80 Necro / Level 80 Thief
I’m a mesmer at heart but my necro alt sports cabalist. Go goth loli or go home!
I’m using the Pirate Cane bought from the vendor in LA at the end of the jumping puzzle. It suites well with my necro as i’m trying to make him look like a tribal witch doctor. For my staff i use the invader’s one as the animation of the ghastly scythe begins exactly in the circle it has at the top making it look like it starts in the void. I think there’s no legendary at moment that pleases my tastes for necro…
arah armor look crap on asura, the shoulders are to big.. I cant find something that fits for him, except look like generic mage
the freakigng LEGENDARY STAFF SHOOTS RAINbows (Bifrost),are u fk kiding me ? rainbows on a class that is supposed to follow a dark and evil theme? …

Basically the more popular class gets the cooler weapon, we necros are doomed.
The most used weapons are going to have the most skins? Why, by golly, who ever would have guessed?
Seriously though, skins take time to develop, obviously they are going to release skins for the most used weapons, this kind of thing is mirrored along a lot of games. Staff is hugely popular, daggers are huge, in fact most of our weapons are shared with popular professions (elementalists, mesmers, warriors, and guardians, the most played professions, all commonly use our weapons). I see axe, warhorn, and maybe focus being relatively rare, but its not like we aren’t going to have plenty of skins.
Actually one thing we’re lacking is a condition version of PTV gear. Why no condition dmg-toughness-vitality? Everywhere I looked I wasn’t able to find any. If anyone can feel free to correct me. As well as ugly legendaries of course, besides the trident.

~I could promise you the same…but it would be a lie…

Amazingly OP
I would love it but ya….

People always say this, but they never give examples of why it would be OP. How would it any more OP than PTV?
You would need to show math really to make me believe its OP. I could see it being strong due to higher defensive stats, but just like PVT compared to Knight gear, you are gaining defense at the cost of damage, and this would work the same (either giving up the damage from power, or the damage from crit chance, depending on carrion/rabid). I think the tradeoff would make things even.

It would be even, you take other sources of damage out of the equation just the same as PTV gear, only you’re giving condition damage in it’s place. No reason at all we couldn’t have this stat combo.

That is what I was thinking. Maybe it is something they will implement over time, as they release new armor sets, but it is a bit annoying that it can’t be used right now, because it is killing certain build types.
I think the reason why there is no CVT gear comes down to two things: a) power on its own with defensive stats doesnt do much, its mostly precision with crit dmg that increases burst while you can boost cond damage with just duration and make it equivalent to any other condition damage build
b) Imagine if you went with such a build and got onto any item/object in game… yeah have fun destroying that graveling burrow for 5+ minutes.
If the only change you make is, for example, making a rabid gear have vitality not precision, then just like with PVT vs Knight gear, you are gaining some defensive stats, at the cost of damage. Precision still ends up boosting damage via on-crit bleeds, and it would still be a trade-off, just like everything else.
Besides, there exist Shaman gear already, which has healing power instead of vitality, and effectively means the same thing in a fight (instead of higher starting HP you just effectively get it via healing). If that is balanced, I can’t see how CTV wouldn’t be.
For point b, that would be your own fault. If you are going to equip CTV gear, then you should be able to figure out you won’t be dealing any damage to structures.

Remeber condi and healing aint primary attributes, making it sub par for a condi build a CTV if going by soldier setup would make it the best setup for conditions, unless you put one of the defensive stats as primary and in that case… why bother? As you mentioned Shammy does the same but with healing instead of a higher hp cap (and we 2 heals that are in the top 5 of the game).
For the second point, you know yourself that people would and will still kitten about conditions not doing damage to objects, actually doinkittenage to it on a damage based build would just cause more outrage. Not that im against getting a CTV set of gear, its just that noone is really thinking like a devil’s advocate for the gear perspective. Most setups of stats can already be done with gear in game (knights zerker combo being most popular).

No one forces them to use the gear though, if they choose to run heavily on conditions and almost no power, they have no right to rage over not being able to destroy an ogre pet house or graveling burrow lolz. People will invent things to whine about regardless, that shouldn’t be a reason to forgo progress for the sake of wiping a few runny noses.

A class is as popular as is it made wouldn’t that imply some clases are more better than others? thats kinda dissapointing
