Celestial Armor - worth it?
I haven’t done the math, but I would guess that it’s not worth it because Necromancer has so few skills that benefit a lot from Healing Power.

While the stats are across the board, they don’t look very enticing to me.
Celestial Light Armor (thanks Dulfy, you are awesome!)
@LastDay.3524 I might not have need for -all- of the stats, but the ones I might use, the armor sets seem to have a fair bit of, not max by any means.
@Streets.2705 They aren’t going to be as good as ‘zerker gear for a glass cannon obviously, I’m just wonder if what they provide is enough.
I’m thinking overall it might be a good set to make, and then pairing with trinkets etc that do match the stats I want to emphasize, along with the traited bonuses I’d get for whichever spec I’m in.
It should mean I only have to cart around one set of armor for most of the things I want to do…. maybe several sets of trinkets for specific specs.
They are going to do something when they get rid of the magic find stat. If they drop it and boost stats up accordingly and this suit doesn’t lose so much primary stat it may turn out better. But really the only classes that I see benefiting from ths suit are rangers and guardians.
Don’t use Celestial sets to have one set for every situation. It is good in that it gives more stats overall than other sets, however that only applies if you actually use all those stats. So look at that; do you actually use all those stats in each build? If not, just get separate sets, if yes, then use it, since it will give you more overall.
Can see it only being worth it on WvW eles. But the stats are too low even for celestial gear. Compare the numbers to beserker gear and then compare celestial rings to other beserker rings.
OK, thanks for your opinions all. I was just wondering if it would be worth having as cheaper alternative to getting high level gear for all of the different specs I may move between – still using ‘zerker trinkets etc for example if I’m power heavy. It was also with consideration to the cost of the storage space for all of the gear as well.

Only problem with that is the poster didn’t take into consideration that if you play good enough to mitigate/avoid damage while in DS, additional hp and armor from celestial gear won’t make a difference to DS uptime.
You’re probably better off switching some berserker pieces to cavaliers/valkyrie if you wanna min max around 50% base crit rate and Deathly Perception.
(edited by Izaya.2906)
if you get full celestial you are losing about 500 of the prime stat compared to specific armor and a lil bit less from the secondary
i as conditionmancer don’t think that the more power/healing etc can compensate the cond dmg lost
i think it fits much more for ele or guardian
Condition necro should NOT take celestial. Condition damage scaling is horrid. The little gain you get from celestial will pretty much have you sitting doing barely any more damage then a guy with base condition damage.
@Poxheart.2845
Ah great thank you, that was the analysis I was hoping I wouldn’t have to do myself
Looks like it add’s a good chunk of toughness for powermancer builds of pure ’zerker without dropping too much.
@Batlav.6318 & HiSaZuL.2843
Thanks also, it does look like it could work, but is probably losing just a little too much in the main stats for me to remain actually useful.
Overall I think it’s maybe a little telling of necro as a whole that we don’t benefit from a fair chunk of stats some armor provides.
I think that Celestial Gear is good in only some parts.
For example, I am working out a build that reaches 50% crit chance, then uses Deathly perception. I do not want to waste any stat points in Precision to go above that 50% crit chance, but I do want to maximize crit damage. I also don’t want to be a squishy glass cannon
Solution? Use a mix of Celestial, Knights, and Valkyrie’s for a durable bruiser build with 100% DS crit chance and strong crit damage. I’m currently just working on exactly which pieces I want of each.
I think Nemesis posted a vid with rampager armour and celestial accessories. Might not have been him, not sure.
Anyway, working on a celestial accessories set. The crit it gives is very reasonable, and for hybrid builds I think it’ll work well. The only “dump stats” are healing (which isn’t useless, just not ideal) and MF (which is getting “fixed” in the future apparently).
Celestial is ideal if your build can utilise every single stat. If you simply wish to alternate between different builds then it would be easier to just buy 2 different armor sets, considering that it takes a month to farm enough charged quartz to make a full celestial set.
For me, as a 0/10/0/30/30 wellomancer, Celestial armor is practically mandatory, as I desperately need every single stat there exists in the game to make it work. For the accessories and weapons I use berserker for the extra precision.
@Drarnor Kunoram.5180 & @SupahSpankeh.8452
Excellent idea. I might have to see what I can put together – something that has 50% crit (for 100% with DS +50% crit chance, when traited) – and a good chunk of toughness.
Thanks all.
dont forget furious demise, you only need 30% crit base + 20% fury + 50% from ds = 100% for 5 seconds.
My Power set uses a mix of Berserker and Knight’s.
For it Condition Damage and Healing Power are almost useless so Celestial would be a waste.
And my Hybrid uses Carrion Armor with Rampager Trinkets.
It has pretty high Condition Damage and Power and enough Precision and Vitality.
Celestial will become much better for Necro once Life Steal effects get more scaling from Healing Power.
Some sort of Hybrid build using Life Stealing and high Blood Magic might benefit from Celestial a lot.
Celestial is actually good for power necros. It might give a little more dps by allowing you to stay in DS longer, with survivability. If siphoning also gets affected by healing power, it’d become op.
All that matters is to do the optimization correctly.
