CelestialMancer Build for WvW
Wrong link?
*Use Scepter 1 & spin around to break stealth on theives. Also good for stomping.
?
celestial?? where does celestial come in on this build it is full zerker mostly and the traits wouldn’t be the best for a celestial mancer… celestial offers a wide range of all stats meaning it is a hybrid going full power like that would be better if u stuck with zerker… to use celestial u are going to get both stats at about average meaning u want both condi and power.. I can link my build if u want…
P.S. it is prob the wrong build b/c of u saying use scepter 1… and how can u stomp with scepter 1?… I feel this could be just a troll post
You do know you dont want to have 51% Crit chance right? Unless you plan on staying inside it alot, even then i would be aiming for around 30-40% considering you are going so high in precision and you get the fury on entering DS that means you have 121% for the first 5 seconds.

That is the kind of build i would run, a few changes. Gone into Spite 30 and got Close to Death and Chill of Death. 30% Crit Chance, 80% inside DeathShroud.
Travelers for the extra pace, condition duration is meh but Boon duration, crit damage and everything else is solid
Solider weapons for the power, toughness and Vit for the extra survivability
I solo roam with my Celestial Necro and its a blast,it’s funny hitting people for 5k dagger hits.
This is the build I run with.

Dhuumfire+chill of death is useless in wvw because it only procs on one person, plus you are using a power build. (also overwritten very easily)
Scepter is useless on a power build. Sure the cripple is good, but you can get a little with axe plus boon removal and awesome retal uptime. Frees up Spite #10.
Your main damage source in a powermancer build is through deathshroud, so you should focus on buffing it accordingly.
In summary: your celestial stats intrigue me.
*chill of death – at 50% enemies health on attack “Chill your target and remove up to three boons, dealing extra damage based on the number of boons removed.”
With food its ~ 9-10 sec of chill which works, they are burning and chilled. There is also 1v1 in WvW and chilling causes movement speed decreased by 66%; skill cooldown increased by 66%; stacks duration. This really helps slow the fight down to the necros skill rotation. I would rather have DhuumChill instead of burning but that is another topic.
Scepter 1 is 900 range, fast and procs great with 3 hits in 1 1/2 sec so lots of Critical Strikes with AOE flame blast. Axe hits like a rock but isnt fast enough but I do have an axe on standby.
Best part about the Celestial Setup is that it allows changing traits without worrying about losing something in the process. If there is a need to command then flip traits for stability and you are good to go. Its nice to have healing power up again so when both players are downed in 1v1, I can rally back with Life Leech"Leech a foe’s health to heal yourself" instead of me losing the fight.
Added: Scepter 1
Blood Curse ~ Rending Curse ~ Putrid Curse
The whole sequence takes 3.0 sec not 1.5

Hitting a foe with an attack breaks stealth!
Wrong.
Scepter 1 with Superior Sigil of Fire for AOE Blast works great for this!
Since the scepter auto attack is targeted it can’t hit stealthed units at all.

How do I kill a GC Thief? Quite simple actually. A GC Thiefs goal is to land a backstab on you. Backstab, in order to be used effectively – requires them to be behind you, AND at close range! If you are playing anyone other than a D/D Thief, you have instant access to spammable close-range AoE. Simply auto attack around in circles until the Thief emerges in the distance.
All I know is that it works with Scepter 1.
do you have any video with this build? i’ve been trying to put together a good hybrid build but haven’t come up with much yet.
Necro roaming & sPvP
I assumed it was a zerg battle when I did not see anything indicating otherwise. I wouldnt recommend that trait setup in zerg fights because deathshroud is our best source of power damage, and you dont have any traits buffing it.
Looks pretty cool for 1v1s though.

Less try to stay on topic.
CelestialMancer = Celestial Armour, Weapons, and Trinkets.
Its about WvW not PvP or PVE but I haven’t tested it yet doing PVE MM. I think that would be fun!
So we need feedback on what build works or doesn’t work with the CelestialMancer setup.
Its also shouldn’t be about my build which can change by simply changing the traits.
Its about “not having to change amour /weapons” for all the different builds out there.
Since Ascended Armour isn’t cheap u can only pick 1. The Runes of Divinity or Traveler’s are the only 2 runes that fits the bill. The +10 to all traits = Celestial Stats.
Then we should see which builds we can or cant run with it.

Why waste traits with Hemophilia when theres food available?
Koi Cake ~ All Conditions Duration increase: 40%
Hemophilia? ~ Only Bleeding Duration increase: 20%

You’re deluding yourself with that assumption.
It can’t hit stealthed units, and being hit in stealth never reveales you, which you would know if you actually read the wiki article you linked earlier.
And that quote just now is not from the necro subforum. The person explaining assumes that your auto attack cleaves, which would make it untargeted and therefore able to hit stealthed units. The only necro weapon with an auto attack like that is the staff… but good luck hitting a stealthed thief with Necrotic Grasp :P

Is there anybody else running full Celestial?

Simply auto attack around in circles until the Thief emerges in the distance.
Since when the thief emerges from stealth or is knocked out of stealth is unknown to me or you, Scepter 1 hits him instantly with autoattack if on and facing in his general direction up to 900 range.
wiki
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Stealth
Hitting a foe with an attack breaks stealth; if the attack missed, was blocked, or was evaded, they will not break stealth. Abilities that do not deal direct damage (like Choking Gas, Caltrops, or the Traps which do not deal direct damage) will not break stealth, even though they apply damaging conditions.
Scepter 1 Blood Curse ~ Damage: 118
Does the “direct damage” = “Damage” ?
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Damage
Direct damage. This damage is inflicted by skills and/or traits directly, can crit, and is mitigated by the target’s armor.
So I’m deluding myself ? Ok I’m find with that!
You missunderstand…
“Hitting a foe with an attack breaks stealth”. This is refering to the one in stealth.
If a stealthed thief hits you he will be revealed, not the other way around.
As to the scepter, only Grasping Dead can hit without a target.
Yea I’m pretty sure the last 1000 times I hit a thief in stealth they did not become revealed. (with marks, life transfer, dagger auto attack)
So drop your argument about stealth, its going no where.
Your stats look good, although celestial is not my thing.
the revealing thingy comes form thiefs side if he hits he’ll get out of stealth.

Characters in stealth cannot be targeted by enemies, but can still be hit by attacks and take damage without breaking stealth.
But try spinning around with Scepter 1 auto attacking. What do you have to lose?
