Cleric Bunker and Spectral Bruiser are great builds and in theory should work. The reality is though every other class brings more to the table and these builds require help from teammates while other classes can do the same with no further help from teammates. I’ve almost given up on necromancer builds and current meta viability which is one of the reasons I was late in updating this thread.
The well bomber build is my favorite out of the 3 and I really wanted it to work with Cavalier but Soldier is the way to go with this build in tpvp.
Nexed recently revived the spectral bruiser build in his post but it seems he to is having trouble, its a hit or miss depending on opponents really.
Working on condi / axe hybrid that has the best burst potential out of any other necro build IMO. I released it a couple months back but I will revive it once again when I’m finished with it.
Anet wants us to hug our enemys and stick to them fighting to the end getting stronger as we go but in reality we are 100% sideline fighters that get weaker as the fight continues especially when the strat is “Focus the necro first” everytime without fail. :\
More Builds Coming Soon!
I may be streaming later today (3:00 est 6/24/14) if you want to join me in making / testing out builds.

I have yet to try this build, but I am skeptical about some choices:
- Why don’t you drop 10 points in Curses (fury with DS + spectral attunement) for 10 extra points in SR (extra Spectral Armor and 20% CD reduction on spectral skills) ?
- I’m not fond of Weakening Shroud since the nerf to a pathetic 2 sec. Why don’t you take Chilling Darkness instead ?
The uptime with spectral allows for better life force regeneration as well as allows for better Sp. walk peels.
I stated at the end of the post 2 points in BM can go into SR for better spectral utilization, as I was just testing the regeneration up time.
I chose WS because I prefer it over chilling, feel free to use chilling if you feel it’s necessary.
I’m currently testing out multiple variations to this build.
Sorry for not updating as I said I would I have been busy.
Once I do further testing i’ll pdate this post.
I do have toughness power builds ready to go I just have to find time to update this post.
Updated with some builds more builds coming soon!
Why are you putting points in curses if you are going cleric/healing? Instead of dagger/dagger you can go dagger/focus for more healing and utility and remove points from curses completely and put them into spite for more power (You can get 7% of power as healing bonus in 2nd minor trait.)
I’ll add the suggestion to the list, I’m aware of the trait that increases healing. I tend to like getting the most out of my utilities by making them stronger via traits.
I looked over footage from my stream using x/4/6/4/x and I am considering switching to 4/x/6/4/x. I do need a damage increase but I’m skeptical about losing the spectral duration, but as I looked over the videos I realized I’m mostly wasting the extra duration either by not being hit or already at full health or full life force. I use dg/dg for the extra condi peel (since I’m suggesting vamp signet)and weakness. Its preference really or depends on what your fighting. Consume conditions works just as good so feel free to use that and slap on focus if needed.
When I make builds, offhands / certain traits are often interchangeable depending on what your fighting. Nothing is set in stone, I like to give ideas for others to build off of.
A few questions, how valuable is greater marks? Also, how much time do you spend in staff/dagger/DS in a normal fight with the Well Bomber? The playstyle seems like it’d flow a lot different with such a focus on staff skills, but I definitely am curious on how it plays out.
Is rune of the monk the best choice for these? Aside from the one specced for healing others, how dramatic is the impact of the 6 bonus? Seems like you might get more from something like Water. Doesnt’ seem like you have much outbound healing.
Do you try to pop vampire signet immediately before hopping into DS since the passive will be wasted during that time?
Since you’re already rolling D/D, why don’t you try x/x/6/2/6, picking up -20% dagger recharge and deathly perception? For a bit more offensive oomph, I mean.
Also maybe a rune set that complements those offensive abilities? Isn’t clerics more than enough healing?
I’m definitely going to try something along those lines tonight. Right now it seems tough to justify taking all that healing though, but it might be fun to have some a lot more options outside of DS, which is a problem with the spectral bruiser.
How’s Mark of Evasion? If you pack 2x energy can you rack up considerable damage and healing with it to ignorant enemies?

Also, how would something like a celestial amulet do for some of the builds that aren’t extremely healing focused? You get a considerable increase in raw stat points over (roughly 3k vs 2.2k on a normal 3 stat amulet), and it seems like with some of those you’re dealing mixed damage anyway.
Take a look at this build I worked on based on yours (have only played Bruiser, however):

I’m a little worried this will still be piddly in the offensive department, and the healing might have weakened the focus on my build overall. I still will try it tonight just to see. I’m not even really sure what the strengths are over it. Other considerations I’m thinking of in death magic include swapping -1 condition in DS for staff recharge, and death shiver instead of greater marks. Either way, I think this might actually work as hybridy. I just hate wasting the 30% boon duration increase from death magic. We’ll see if the regen in DS is worth it. At least the Ferocity wont’ be so wasted because of deathly perception.
