Condi dmg cap
-The bad news.
Yes, there’s a cap.
A target can’t have more than 25 stack of bleeding.
-The good news
Even a full rabid necro with 100% condition duration and with a good rotation would be hard to reach that cap alone. (something like 20, but not 25)
-The second bad news.
Running in dungeon with a second condition player, you will reach quite easy the 23 cap, reducing both your overall dps.
-The second good news
Necro has many condition that deals damage, so (according to the other players condi build and class) he could switch and relay on other condition, such as burning and torment(on some very walking bosses)
-The third bad news
On World Event, bleed cap is always up at 25……. (except torment, didn’t see that yet)
-The third good news
………in World Event, you don’t care about your damage.
-The final game breaking fourth good news!!
Evrey one who thinks about condition builds are so afraid of the condition cap, so they tend to build a classic power builds……Which is the reason why WE can make our condition necro without problems.
Actually a rabid necro reaches 133% condi duration and can keep 22-25 bleeds almost constantly…and for your question, no, the higher your condi dmg the harder your conditions hit
a rabid necro reaches 133% condi duration
I know what you mean by that (I’m sure you weren’t implying that the armor prefix influences your condi duration), but just to make it clear:
1. Plus 100% duration is the cap for all conditions.
2. The “33” comes from Lingering Curse which only increases conditions applied by scepter skills. No trait or sigil procs, just the auto attack chain and Grasping Dead (Feast of Corrution doesn’t appy any conditions).
3. Lingering Curse modifies the scepter’s base durations, that’s why it seems like an exception to the 100% rule, but it really isn’t.
4. The tooltip of Lingering Curse is wrong: no condition is increased by 33%.
Blood and Rending Curse (1xbleeding): 5 sec base duration becomes 7 sec with LC (+40%), apply 100% condi duration and you get 14 ticks each, that’s +180% duration.
Putrid Curse (poison): 4sec -> 6sec (+50%), potentially 12 ticks (+200%).
Grasping Dead:
2xbleeding: 7sec -> 9sec (28,5%), potentially 18 ticks (+157%).
Cripple: 5sec -> 6sec (20%), potentially 12sec (+140%).

I’ve been getting 22+ reaching 25 sometimes for a few seconds. Meaning there is 0 point in any other condition users in my group and if someone with a damage build does a bleed it deletes my damage meaning I’m less efficient.
When will they fix this broken mechanic… Thought a year would give them enough time to fix something this big.

What about Hemophilia?

With Hemophilia you cannot exceed the 100% duration.

+1
Other classes apply bleed too like mesmers Sharper Images or warriors Precise strikes so even if you are the only full condi player, with 100% condi duration your damage will be decreased by other classes. For no reason.
While it is true that the average 25 bleeding stacks solo is not really realistic, it’s more of an “up to…”, one thing to mention is that condition duration > condition damage in PvE.
Even if you could have 5000 condition damage… if you can’t get over 5 stacks of bleeding, someone with 25 stacks and 1500 condition damage will overtake you by a mile…
So max out condition duration then worry about the damage. Or if you have a group and like to play “of the pro” set your condition duration to an interval that sinergizez perfectly with the other usual bleeders in your team… so that not a single drop of DPS is wasted…
OR…
Use my conditionmancer that focuses on support + AoE in such a way that your single target DPS is negligible… while your AoE sustain DPS is the highest possible in the game, so even if you overstack with another bleeder… you’r there for the AoE and support…
Nemesis live-stream channel - focusing mainly on Guild Wars 2, League of Legends and Dota II.

his VIDS are long but have table of content so you can skip to the parts you need.
he has 3 AMAZING necro vids: Condition , Hybrid and Berserk!
he shows you how to play the necro, as getting 25stack of bleed is VERY VERY EASY ,
as i HYbrid necro i have 70% condition duration and i still get 25 stack of BLEED!!!! so yes going to 100% is basically useless!!! look up the VIDS!!
and remember * there is no BEST damage type only best at!*

Shouldn’t you also change some of your traits? Like changing lingering curse for terror or even hemophilia for chilling darkness?
With Hemophilia you cannot exceed the 100% duration.

Darn, I always thought Hemophilia worked on the base value like Lingering Curse. I’m already at 90% without it so I should probably drop it for something else
