Conditionmancer - which runes? (PVE)
I find it hard to believe that you only have 340 toughness in full rabid gear. And why would that amount increase if you invest points in vitality/healing power?
Anyway… Undead runes used to give the highest amount of condition damage (and they still do in sPvP) but now: Scavenger’s for better defense, Perplexity for better offense.
There’s no reason to take Undead in PvE/WvW anymore except that they are the cheapest.
Nvm about bonus, i’m an idiot. With undead runes i have +17 condition damage compared to scavenger runes, totally forgot i have vitality even with 0 in trait tree

Why perplextiy? For just single stack of confusion and unnecessary confusion duration?
3 stacks on the 4th bonus, 5 stacks on 6th.

it also means more unique conditions to cleanse
80 warr [Blaze Steelsoul], 80 ele [Blaze Nightstrike], 80 mesmer [Grim Shatterwhirl]
80 guard [Dusk Grimlight], 80 engi [Flintgear]
3 stacks on the 4th bonus, 5 stacks on 6th.
Not sure about 6rune bonus, on interrupt? Meeeh…
Undead ftw, i wouldn’t trade my toughness for anything.

It’s just 50 toughness, not much, especially for pve.

Newish to Necro so excuse the potentially dumb question but, why not use full Dire armor? Then you don’t have to worry about defensive runes. If you want crit you can always go 1/2 Dire 1/2 Rabid right?

Because dire is not easy to get.

No it isn’t hard to get. Just run some coe and there you go.
It’s because there is no need for more defensive stats. Rabid is too tanky already.

Some coe.. 1380 tokens is 23 runs of CoE (little less if count bags from bosses) :/
(Even twice more, i gather bers armor for my engi, don’t like cof skin)

I just bought a full set of Rare Dire armor from the TP for about 2g. The stat difference seems small enough (37 cond dmg, 27 v&t from 6 armor pieces) that you can effectively test a build out before investing in Exotics.
