The poison and weakness was 5s and 10s respectively. Now it only lasts 3s and 3s. This skill is now useless in both offence and defence.
This is a nerf of 40% and 70% respectively, btw. And this is huge. Basically this is Anet saying that this skill is so OPed that it shouldn’t exist in the first place.

It was useless ever before. 5 seconds untill the conditions get reapplied. 5 seconds. in such a fast paced game you will never get more then 1 additional hit unless your enemy is static in PVE. And even IF something stands in it for the full duration the effects are abysmal. The AOE is pretty small for its intention. They should rename it to Miasma, let it grow much larger over time (at least the to the AOE of 480) and deal it a small damage ammount each second, maybe half that damage of locust swarm, so it can be at least useful for the lifesteal on hit traits.

lol, you speak as if this skill had any uses anywhere ever!
And you know, if this skill belonged to the mesmer, it would have probably also applied daze from time to time, maybe confusion too, and definitly wouldn’t have weakened yourself. But then, this skill belongs to the necromancer instead, so it will stay abysmal because the extra hp necromancer has apparently compensates everything!!

It always seemed useless. I think the total damage it does to someone standing in it for the full duration is like 800 dmg? who knows, never seen anyone stand in it jerkin the jimmie. Rather it was a dodge roll and a laugh.
It’s silent because who uses it? I certainly didn’t notice.
How is it possible that a blatant nerf like this doesn’t even get mentioned in the patch notes? It’s not like the fear change where they were supposedly fixing a global issue. It’s a specific, purposeful nerf to one skill directly. There literally is no possible excuse not to mention it.

Rather than ticking 5 seconds of poison every 5 seconds, it’s ticking 3 seconds of poison every 3 seconds. The weakness duration was cut, as was the duration of the field (15s to 12s).
Still…lol, who actually uses this?

Poison and Weakness together is not amazing damage, but the effects are great.
It’s not really part of my rotation, but it has potential.
It was actually a good skill, just others outscaled it. It pretty much applies perma poison, tested it with healing rain and it would only remove the weakness, if the poison was removed it was reapplied within the next second.
My personal theory is that some necro made the mistake of dropping in on the node point the dev’s warrior wanted to capture.
Yeah of all the things to nerf, why that? God forbid we have a situationally semi-useful ability that almost no one uses! If anything it needed a buff.
